30/8/2018 08:36 | Holding above 700p though for now. | montyhedge
30/8/2018 08:35 | I think very messy for IAG if no deal on Brexit, airspace, registered in Spain, mainly operates from U.K. | montyhedge
29/8/2018 18:50 | I would not have thought so, no restructuring required, IAG is in a great position. | neilrich
29/8/2018 17:07 | I agree neil, an agreement will be reached BUT will it require IAG to restructure it's various companies, to comply with the new regulations, or not ? | m1k3y1
29/8/2018 16:44 | They shall reach agreement....the idea that a no deal shall lead to aircraft being grounded across Europe and the UK is ridiculous! The likes of Spain would be straight into a recession, agreement will be reached, although the leaders of the European Union are likely to be swept aside in the process! Big business is where the power really lies, after that National Government, hence Teresa May having weekends away with various influential national European leaders. | neilrich
29/8/2018 16:18 | Analyst on Bloomberg just now said airspace big problem if no deal on Brexit, different airspace's. They got to sort this out. | montyhedge
29/8/2018 14:10 | I think if more British shareholders could collectively raise their concerns with IAG , regarding being unable to claim back the withholding tax, they may be forced into providing a way for the tax to be reclaimed for British Citizens. As EU citizens, it certainly appears discriminatory on the face of it. The limiting factor here , is the way that UK brokers hold the shares in 'Nominee' accounts. This is obviously to make it easier for them and for their clients, however it causes problems such as this. The withholding tax not able to be reclaimed by British shareholders, must be very substantial, certainly in the 10's of millions I would imagine. This is detrimental, not only to British IAG shareholders but also to HMRC who would benefit from the additional tax paid, on the 19% withholding tax, if it was reclaimed. | m1k3y1
29/8/2018 13:59 | Yes Brexit could be messy , IAG registered in Spain, operates mainly U.K. a lot to sort out for governments. The 19% witholding tax I must admit is annoying. | montyhedge
29/8/2018 13:48 | I think it has to do with Walsh's tax as he lives in Spain. personally, I can't see any benefit to being listed in Spain and the UK but what do I know. IAG has made no announcements about their plans following Brexit but surely they will have to revise how the company is currently structured, to meet the various requirements ? | m1k3y1
29/8/2018 12:50 | m1k3y1 I looked into it, my broker won't claim it back, so lose 19% in witholding tax on the dividend it seems to me, annoying. Why do IAG have to be registered in Spain. | montyhedge
29/8/2018 12:42 | RYA share price up again ! now showing 1.9% uptick | m1k3y1
29/8/2018 12:41 | Monty I have asked HL about claiming back the withholding tax and it seems very difficult if your shares are held as nominee, especially if they are held in a SIPP. I think this is entirely wrong to be honest Most shares for private investors are traded as Nominee, as it makes it easy . To be able to claim the tax back if you are Spanish but not if you are British , appears, on the face of it, to be discriminatory. Apparently, if you can prove you hold / own the shares , you may stand a chance of claiming the tax back BUT you will also need to employ the services of a spanish company / accountant who can deal with it for you. | m1k3y1
29/8/2018 08:55 | On the dividend I know of course based in Spain, can we claim the 19% withholding tax they keep, as a refund in U.K. ? | montyhedge

28/8/2018 10:14 | Its a good job that they are buying shares in the market, helping holding the price above 700p, volume very low. If no buybacks I see 675p. | montyhedge

24/8/2018 08:31 | Looks like the trading range is 665p to 705p at the moment needs a breakout, or may just roll over if IAG ease up on buybacks. | montyhedge
24/8/2018 08:06 | There were buying 700,000 a day roughly for ages, then cut down. £50m I reckon if that. | montyhedge
23/8/2018 21:30 | Still probably got another 150m - 200m to go to complete the 500m buyback | m1k3y1

23/8/2018 21:03 | Wow only 80,000 shares buyback In London, getting less and less. Unless we are getting near the end of buybacks. | montyhedge
23/8/2018 19:21 | I think one is as bad as the other neil ! although brexit will have a greater impact on shares ! | m1k3y1
23/8/2018 19:14 | I feel that a no deal BREXIT is a bigger threat than Trump right now! | neilrich
23/8/2018 17:16 | Not sure it would be a shock Monty, so much as welcome relief ! | m1k3y1 |
