1st buy of the day appeared on advfn just now at 247.90. I am hoping for share price moving onwards here after. 1st half of today was a real surprise for me as share price went down by over 4% after yesterday's good outcome.

Many thanks for that on Boots. Seems a pretty sound way forward to me - build out from Skinny Tan's reputation, establishing new brands on the back of it, rather than going for maximum ST volume.

I wonder if Superdrug will be the main sponsor of Love Island 2018?

Superdrug & Love Island 2017 on ITV.2

Superdrug, the main sponsor for the second year running, is the one brand that has perhaps benefitted the most...

Also if Roots becomes the hit it looks to be we can start selling that elsewhere from July, or we negotiate an extension depending on what other shelf space Superdrug can offer us.

Croas et al

Ive just caught up on yesterdays postings which is great to read and reinforces confidence among PIs. Was there any comment on financials whether it be SP, future funding or factory/warehouse needs?

Croasdalefc I'm actually not that disappointed with that. As I've previously mentioned skinny tan is the leverage we have to get the other brands into Superdrug and establish themselves. Which is why skinny tan is so important to idp. It wouldn't me if a few of the brands become a lot bigger than skinny tan, but right now we need to use skinny tan to promote the other brands.

The Boots Question:

OK, some of you are going to be disappointed reading this.

Exclusivity of Skinny Tan for Superdrug in retail UK has been extended for one year (except Fenwicks as we know). Remember the original deal was 2 year exclusivity with an option of a further year.

Im sure we can all argue back and forth the pros and cons of that decision for the rest of the week but I will try to give some reasons why I think the Board has taken this decision.

In a nutshell they are looking at the big picture – 12 months to 24 months rather than a short term jump in the share price.

IDP is a one trick pony (Skinny Tan) trying to become a thoroughbred racehorse in record time. To do that they need shelf space in good retail outlets, also position of the goods on the top shelf and ‘free’ advertising through retail social media and retail websites etc etc

I think that HC has renegotiated IDP’s position with Superdrug across 5 or 6 Brands. Skinny Tan, Body Glow, The new Brand(s), Stevie K, Roots, and perhaps Charles and Lee. In other words Superdrug came to IDP and said we can do X,Y and Z with Skinny Tan and your other brands – an offer they couldn’t refuse?

In other words; better margin, more shelf space, prominent in-store positions, ‘free’ adverts from Superdrug, dedicated pages when links are clicked through, competitions?, even perhaps TV adverts in the future who knows? This is across 5/6 brands.
In 12 months (6 months with Roots) they will hope to have 5/6 brands established and be in a much stronger position to roll out several brands to other UK retailers and beyond globally.

As far as I know Superdrug made an exception for Fenwicks as they have a small footprint and Fenwicks add credibility to the Skinny Tan brand – their respective customer bases have little cross over. They might be able to make other deals with say House of Fraser – again who knows?

Skinny Tan is trying to remain a premium brand, with a premium price point, the Fenwick, OVS and Sephora deals cement that.

But remember fake tanning is primarily a British/Irish phenomenon and its seasonal. The other brands are potentially global and definitely not seasonal.

Roots by itself has the potential to outsell Skinny Tan in 18 months.

Croasdalelfc,

I appreciate your write-up and efforts at today's AGM.

It reaffirms my feeling that IDP remains a long-term investment with a core holding, along with the short term trading opportunities for such an illiquid and tightly held stock.

Croas, excellent report. As always you are the numero uno magnet on this thread.I was about to dump these (with a big loss) when share price hit 240 first time around but just kept my faith and cancelled the sell order. Your report has reinstated my faith in IDP again. Thanks a ton.

It was an AGM rather than a Proactive Investors meeting. So only a handful of PIs including one other from this board who hardly ever posts. Jam4u was late ;)There were a few questions from the floor:One re ÅSA ruling - as discussed in my reportOne re Enbright - mine - why isn't it on website as a brand? One I can't remember :(No one came forward and identified themselves from a financial Institution but it is possible the question came from that source - though they would have to be shareholder as wellHC was guarded when asked about Boots ( a n other high street retailer)I will try to explain my thoughts a little later

Fantastic work as always Croas- greatly appreciated.

A few quick questions if I may:-

Where there many analysts there from institutions?

Did you perceive any negatives or risks that were brought up at the meeting?

Now that the exclusivity for SD for U.K. is almost over was there any hints if another major retail chain could come on board soon -Boots?

InnovaDerma Shares Rise With Multiple Scheduled Product Launches

LONDON (Alliance News) - Shares rose in InnovaDerma PLC on Wednesday as it announced the development of a new body and skin product range to be launched in 2018, as well as the appointment of Jesse Porto as senior vice president of the Americas.
Shares in the developer of beauty and personal care products rose 13% to 259.90 pence on Wednesday.
The company's new skin product range will be a brand extension of Skinny Tan, and was developed as a response to the growing popularity of Body Glow, which is performing ahead of management expectations. The product range will be launched in 390 Superdrug stores in the first quarter of 2018.
Porto has been appointed to support Innovaderma's growth in the Americas region. The director will be joining from boutique beauty firm Fusion Brands Inc, where he was vice president international for two years since 2015. Prior to that Porto was part of The Estee Lauder Co Inc for eight years, leaving as executive director for international marketing and sales in 2015.
In addition, InnovaDerma reported progress made by the Skinny Tan brand in Western Europe, with the portfolio ranged in France for the first time during the first quarter of 2018. The brand has also seen continued popularity growth in the Republic of Ireland.
Skinny Tan has previously come under fire from advertising regulators, with the Advertising Standards Authority in October upholding four issues raised against the firm's Skinny Tan marketing efforts online.
In August, the company launched haircare range Roots in August, and this has been performing strongly with very positive feedback from customers. In January, Roots is to be ranged in 521 UK stores, up from the current 390.
Finally, InnovaDerma now has a helmet cleared by the US Food & Drug Administration referred to as Headmaster, designed to reduce hair loss, which will be launched under the new brand Hair MD in the US in the coming months. The product will also be launched in Australia and Europe in the first quarter of 2018.
"The company remains confident in achieving its full year expectations and continues to benefit from a positive market for its product portfolio. We are focused on delivering on the objectives we set out when we announced our results, namely to continue to grow Skinny Tan and launch our other brands in multiple markets in the first half of this new financial year. We are particularly pleased by the launch of Roots which, from January, will range in more than 521 Superdrug stores in the UK," said Executive Chairman Haris Chaudhry.
