Probably a buy order being filled although size suggest it could be rather interesting

nice to see this on fire - after so long in the doldrums - 17% in a month.

And why not seeing the prospects for mobile phone connectivity for commercial air travel.

Portsea have been selling into the rise, up to 0.78% on 7th March. Somewhat in the red already as it's risen over 10% since then alone.

New shorter appears over the declaration threshold. Portsea at 0.64%. Can't help but think that their risk/reward ratio is somewhat skewed against them. Certainly shows that a lot of investors are buying into the results.

Can't see much joy for the remaining shorters, especially Thunderbird who seem to have their timings completely wrong.

undervaluedassets - "Aviation is the future as evidenced by the numbers."

Yes, I've been saying so most of last year. There's more growth to come from this division. That's one reason why Echostar are keen to get their hands on ISAT. Don't know what share price the big boys will accept but needs to be comfortably above what it is now.

Aviation is the future as evidenced by the numbers.

Everyone is going to be on their phone in the air... tapping away.. hypnotised.

LightSquared (was ligado) reached a cooperation agreement in 2007 with Inmarsat, a British satellite telecommunications company, that rearranged the L-Band spectrum so the company could use a larger, contiguous stretch of spectrum. However ligado keeps doing the hokey cokey with bankruptcy, and the regulators, who think their network will mess up GPS systems...Sometimes inmarsat get cash, sometimes not, and echostar are eyeing up inmarsat for the spectrum rights (we believe) to block them.

Taken from the accounts.

Revenue and EBITDA from Ligado increased by $1.9m and $3.8m respectively in 2018, and increased by $0.3m and $1.0m respectively in Q4 2018, in line with our co-operation agreement with Ligado.

This agreement stipulates that payments from Ligado to Inmarsat will pause in 2019 (unless Ligado obtains its FCC license during 2019, in which event payments will resume thereafter) and then resume from the beginning of 2020 at c. $136m per annum, growing thereafter at 3% compound over the next 89 years.

Any payments not made in 2019 (up to $132.3m in aggregate), together with prior payments deferred between 2016 and 2018 (approximately $35m in aggregate) will become due for payment by Ligado with interest from their original date of payment no later than 30 June 2021.

Ligado continues in its efforts to obtain its licence from the Federal Communications Commission ("FCC"), with the timing and consequent impact on Inmarsat of any such decision remaining uncertain.

Can anyone tell me what the story is here?

Thanks in advance

No horrors in the results - marginally beaten EBITDA forecasts and aviation is impressive. A bit of light at the end of the tunnel.

Under,

not necessarily, once the last approach was dropped, the shares fell substantially below ISAT's purported own value. Echostar may make the same offer.
