22/6/2018 14:03 | Echostar will be very hard pressed to get shareholders to accept a price much under its 52 week high. | argylerich
22/6/2018 14:03 | Giles Thorne, a satellite equity analyst at Jefferies, had a slightly different take on the events of Friday. In a research note published today, he said the EchoStar bid for Inmarsat is not about sector consolidation but rather about spectrum. “We think Dish is looking for negotiating leverage following news that Ligado could be on the cusp of finally getting its license modification reinstated,” he said. “If we’re wrong, Inmarsat shareholders could hold out for as much as 11 pounds per share. If we’re right, they should be pushing for something even higher. This is only the beginning, in our view.” | gambo555
22/6/2018 13:45 | If they offer 7£.....and they have paid 550p already. IT WILL NOT be accepted OMHO. As Inmarsat board said....the previouse offer (around 5-550P) "very significantly undervalued" the shares in the company. And all analyst predict around 10£ maybe 11£ then more if other bidders come in. "In a note to clients, Canadian bank RBC upped its price target for the FTSE 250-telecoms company to 850p from 725p, saying: “We estimate Inmarsat's spectrum is worth c.£10 per share, split European S-band (£3.25), US L-band (£5.00), Global Lband (£1.55). Spectrum is extremely important to Echostar and its sister company DISH (both controlled by Charlie Ergen).” | gambo555
22/6/2018 13:25 | So Gambo, what happens if Echostar is the only bidder and they only offer £7? | the original goldbug
22/6/2018 13:16 | in your dreams.............. echostar is buying at£550p+...... how on earth do you think they will get it for 7£?? id say minimum is 9.....no one is gonna sell at lesss than 50% premium from this point...pleeease! | gambo555

22/6/2018 13:02 | Interesting for sure. I still think thwy will get it at about £7 unless another serious player enters the arena. | the original goldbug
22/6/2018 12:37 | Hi 7ran5ac710n, On the crest, thanks ! Some thoughts : - if EchoStar intend to bid, they've now set a floor of GBP 5.568; - they may just want a 'strategic stake' in a rival; - they may want to flush out other bidders....and force them to pay 'over the odds', making a useful capital gain AND forcing a rival to 'overpay'. Can't do the share price any harm, whichever way I look at it..... ATB | extrader
22/6/2018 11:51 | I do like the drama of a possible bid scenario ; much more interesting than a calm RNS of an agreed takeover! A 3% position is a statement of intent whilst not enough to risk a big loss if it falls through. | wad collector
22/6/2018 11:25 | Hey Extrader, you still riding the wave? Some serious gains today :) | 7ran5ac710n
22/6/2018 11:17 | £10 is what ISAT is worth at the minimum maybe more to the right bidder ,we are in play now wonder who will be the next player to throw their hat in the ring. | wskill
22/6/2018 11:16 | You wouldn't buy at this price if you was going to walk away | curlly
22/6/2018 11:10 | Well,Echostar have bought 2.97% of ISAT equity and you'd presume that the purchases were a precursor to a bid. | steeplejack

22/6/2018 10:53 | Position taken by EchoStar. Either to get attention or go hostile. And it saves them money rather than buying them all at the full bid price. | samdb
22/6/2018 10:39 | Oi oi. What's going on here then? | samdb

21/6/2018 18:06 | Hey Extrader,All so true yet timing is evryting - a 'plethora' of 8.Xs over 2 days, then an out of hours RNS: submitted to RNS @ 1548, with the usual hour to clear... Ho, ho.And maybe a clear signal to any Acquirer what it'll take to convince the Board...Of course, all IMHO.TTFN | 7ran5ac710n
21/6/2018 17:27 | Hi 7ran5ac710n, Isn't this just a normal requirement following a possible offer ? They've turned down the opening shot, in any case. Or is this just a discreet way of letting us know how much the BoD stand to make at various price points ???? ATB | extrader
