Yes apparently buffet I think it is holds a big chunk of one of the partners. You might find it in the thread somewhere here unless it was LSE where I read it.

The 200DMA usually has resistance to break down. Once through it tho we should rerate nicely.

Does IOG has a relationship with one of Buffets companies? Can some one point me in the direction? Remember IOG still down YTD by -14.89% and as under the radar as KIST and is on the 200 day average. Perhaps the resent rally is putting off buyers, or there is this distressed seller, but when the net sellers are done from any rally we can move on.

hpcg: "With LOG administrators saying 40p was nowhere near what they are looking to sell at a bid would make no sense." Do you have the source? I remember it from a long time ago, but I tried to find it unsuccessfully.

I think Andrew Austin just opened the Pandora box and we will see a lot of M&A in UK North Sea in the second half of the year. It is important to see that valuations are reasonable, even low for a merger like SQZ-KIST. IOG should benefit from this move and we might see management reacting somehow in the coming months.

Was fortunate enough to get my modest top-up at 32.1 - reported as a sale obvs.

Tickling the 200DMA. Should clear it this time. Then clear blue skies.

I fully expected 34p today considering all the action. Maybe later!

I would also have thought IOG would go higher. However it is a bad day, with the sell off in the US yesterday, and the weather in the UK with respect to people sitting at desks. There's 7 weeks of holiday time to come. Ironically the share price needs to be a lot higher for a bid to come in. With LOG administrators saying 40p was nowhere near what they are looking to sell at a bid would make no sense. This is a case where the median holder thinks valuation is much higher than the marginal holder happy to sell at this price. Those accumulating have no need to push the pedal while there are happy sellers at this level.
Open ended funds are more worried about redemptions than deploying cash, and a lot will have ESG deterrents anyway. I'm not even sure if Nordstream 1 doesn't come back after maintenance that this will get a big kick.

Suppose it's all about being forward looking as the market it. Good place to be right now I reckon.

BH with the greatest respect to IOG "management" look at the evolution of the much mooted 2p reserves over the years?!
IMHO the IOG stuff is relatively small potatoes and not the greatest tasting either (yet).
It will get taken over at some point but I doubt it's on many lists at this juncture.
The juries still out.
Obviously would love to be proven wrong of course.
All IMHO and DYOR!!

Let the news filter through. IOG will slowly start popping up on radars looking for bargain positions.

I'm surprised IOG hasn't gone higher on that news, is IOG not seen as a possible target?

Yes that does seem like a likely scenario I agree.

My impression from the RNS was that SQZ board had already rejected overtures, hence it was addressed direct to shareholders.

Yes neither CEO would want to stand down imv especially Mitch with N.Eigg in progress. Imagine the Kudos if that comes in especially if it's another Rhum. If it doesn't it's no big deal as the treasury will be paying most of the costs.

"Probably".
I'd say it's more about who leads the new entity than price and that is a pretty big stumbling block .
The price will work itself out.

But are they talking Dh?

"Accordingly, this announcement is being made by Kistos to urge Serica shareholders to encourage the Board of Serica to engage in constructive discussions with the Board of Kistos regarding the Proposed Combination"

I for one won't be doing that.

I guess SQZ are probably about to shout back publicly however with a rebuttal RNS?!

All points to the North Sea being hot property once again. IOG is in a good place. Production due to more than double this year also from 60 scuffs per day.

Agree BH but the fact that Sqz and Kist are still talking, even in this rather public manner (now) doesn't mean it will not crystallise and again does not mean that IOG will not be a useful bolt on as well?
Quite a difficult "merger" of personalities and this will probably be the most difficult issue to overcome?
All-IMHO and DYOR.

Edited for typos still in bed, lol.

Yes Dh due diligence might be tricky with IOG lol!
But IOG could be a nice bolt on for Kist when the low ball offer for SQZ is kicked into touch by SQZ management anytime soon!

If the North Sea is now in play, IOG will be gobbled up quite quickly by a consolidator such as Kistos/SQZ. A 50% premium would be nice.

At this point in time IMHO IOG assets do not stand up to much scrutiny but hopefully (in time) IOG will surprise to the upside?
