23/11/2021 13:46 | Momentum’s building now. I would not sell this stock. Salty | saltaire111
23/11/2021 13:40 | If you think the post dividend fall will be greater than the dividend is paying why not sell and buy back at the lower price. It could be a risk worth taking. I consider it before every Ex Div day. | davetedjack
23/11/2021 13:34 | Isn't this just a pre-ex-dividend rise though? Won't it just bomb on the 25th as usual? I've got a lot of these (a lot for me anyway) but am wary of the post dividend dips... | cassini
23/11/2021 13:10 | Golden cross developed on the weekly very positive | linton5
23/11/2021 09:20 | Always nice to have a defensive stock whilst the main Market takes a bath.spud | spud
23/11/2021 08:52 | DLG also worth a look imho. Price is sliding but when it stops they will be paying around 9% and they have paid a bonus divi several times in the past. I've stuck 140k in each from the wife's SIPP which gives her £500 a week in divis and capital increases also. Easy money. | encarter
23/11/2021 08:43 | Looking like a re-rating to me. 1800, 1900, 2000? | encarter
23/11/2021 08:40 | Best investment in the FTSE 100 at this current time imo, together with BATS Sit back and collect the cash that they throw at us :) | topazfrenzy
22/11/2021 17:23 | That’s a good spot dmore2. Interesting that Scion are into IMB. Salty | saltaire111
20/11/2021 14:58 | Seems Michael Burry has seen something here too :) | dmore2
20/11/2021 13:37 | Got his measure pretty much from the get go and filtered him alongside his alter egos Mediaeval Blacksmith and Minerve. I simply don't understand why some people are so insecure that they have to create multiple aliases. spud | spud
20/11/2021 13:12 | “ trivialities.” It wouldn’t be so trivial if you were in that position I can assure you. :) | professor john koestler
20/11/2021 13:10 | How the truth hurts! Tell me I am wrong about 50 year mortgages. Is it good for our kids or not? Yes/No - simple answer. People certainly don’t like reality do they. They all need to be wrapped in cotton wool don’t they. I don’t care about what happened back in the day and whether it was Labour or not. I’m not a tribal idiot like most. I look at the issues as they stand and take an objective view. Something most on ADVFN seem incapable of doing. Not good if you are an investor. ;) | professor john koestler
20/11/2021 12:57 | Professor John Koestler turning this board into a political soapbox now similar to to the Diversified Energy Board(DEC) Board I see, spamming up a once pleasant and informative board with inflammatory posts causing endless back-and-forth arguments over minutiae and trivialities. Not sure what the complaint is about the "Tory" government, I seen almost no difference between David Camerons' Tory's and Tony Blair's Labour, and now the BlowJo is on a spending spree that would have made Gordon Brown blush. Give me a break please from your political ramblings, I wish the mods would do us a favour. | the_gold_mine
20/11/2021 08:55 | Yes a good few got spiked with BAT around 27.40 the day before xd having risen sharply, just held above £25 in the following few days all for a 53.9 divi. | krowelet
19/11/2021 14:33 | Imb performing really well compared to peers | linton5
19/11/2021 10:35 | But don't worry we always have Persimmon folks backed by the Tory Help to Sell scheme! 😂😂 50 year mortgages now common and needed just to get on the housing ladder. What a wonderful future for our younger generations. | professor john koestler
19/11/2021 10:29 | Brexiters have already created uncertainty and with it a cheap £ that has created the condition where companies have been take private this year more than in the previous 5 added together! At this rate there will nothing left worth investing into in a decade. Those wonderful tech companies that come to market - and anything else for that matter - are already coming to market fully or overvalued driven by fantasy futures for most. | professor john koestler
19/11/2021 10:25 | Yes, and those that don't quite know what they are talking about are making it easier for them to do it. Perhaps they should ask the Cobham family what it is like to have a decent income paying business ripped from underneath their noses. | professor john koestler
18/11/2021 17:59 | Getting very busy on this board. There must be something in the wind - maybe the guy in Bermuda who keeps upping his stake. There must be a few squillionares who could buy the company outright, take it private, register it in a no tax state and pocket all that lovely div dosh. | irenekent
18/11/2021 14:15 | Anyway, good conversation fenners. It is good we can discuss these things without getting personal. | professor john koestler
18/11/2021 14:11 | "Except the point of a business IS to reward its owners." The point of a business is to do business and the ultimate owners will look for compensation whether the business is controlled by equity or controlled by debt. But the chairman and board of directors are handed the responsibility of being stewards in the business and if they so decide that it makes sense to have some debt on the balance sheet then so be it. What owners definitely don't want to see is the balance sheet being driven into a position where opportunists via a hostile bid can come in and remove them as owners for a token percentage over what could be multi-decade revenue! This stuff about EV is nonsense. All because you pay down debt to zero does not mean that the EV will roughly compensate with market cap like some set of balancing scales. Market cap will be whatever it wants to be considering forward prospects and what is likely to be done with the incremental retained earnings. | professor john koestler
