Wishful thinking I think, IMB is one of just a handful of FTSE 100’s that this crisis has had a minimal impact on so I think you are dreaming if you think you going to get another chance of the late March low, let alone £10.

Be interesting to see the 'New Broom' effect of the share price. I'm expecting the stock to respond positively. spud

It wasn't that long ago IMB was nearly £30, a couple years before that they were over £40

Good to see no material impact as yet on trading even if there are now cigarette bans in certain countries!

i have recently been considering my IMPS position and hunted around for stats on smoking

this is a decent report for anyone interested. smoking still quite prevalent amongst young people in the UK even though the % has been dropping

A lot of investors that buy these stocks for dividends only knowing you don't get much share price growth so when they cut or suspend they drop like a lead balloon. So Imperial Brands case if they suspend the divi these will be under £10, so keep some cash ready

looking at what has happened with other stocks that have suspended the dividend it could drop up to -50% at the point of the announcement, some larger one have dropped -30%. That's kind of initial reaction you'll get

re- the dividend, given messages about the current trading being on expectation it would seem odd, especially given the dividend is covered 1.3 according to forecasts. However, it wouldnt be the first time a new CEO gets bad news out of the way early in his/her tenure though.

What do we think about the dividend ? The market seems to be pricing in a cut from the double figure yield at present

People happy people smoke.

People sad people smoke.

People outside people smoke.

People locked inside people smoke.

SMOKING not impacted by virus.

IMO one would have to put this chart down as yet another that seems to indicate that
the market is set for another leg down.

Anyone else noticed this on other charts ?

And I think BATS is more South African focused than IMB

Plus it’s outrageous to ban a product that may decrease your chance of getting the virus

We should get some confirmation of the dividends soon, they typically declare the dividend after the first week of May

I’d guess the real stuff, anyway it’s calmed my concern about taxes somewhat.

Now we need the figures broken down more. Vapers vs the real stuff.

Maybe it’s just smoke killing the virus in the sinuses in the same way smoking bacon or fish kills bacteria, it actually seems that obesity is a higher risk factor.
