You didn't think maybe that Series 8 being released about half an hour ago was a hint that maybe Series 9 was a week or 2 away ?

That's maybe why you believed that the next big thing licenses (RT) were kept 'secret' rather than being trumpeted from the rooftops ?

Series9 GPUs just got announced, there was all the normal PR posted in the blogs and twitter but I didn't have time to read it at work. Now I have got home its all gone. Still references on twitter though, that's not been removed yet.

EDIT: Twitter feeds are gone now as well, but I have a screen capture of when it was up.

While that is true it was based on what IMG told me. Its not my fault two different IMG staff members lied to me. I was flat out told I wouldn't have to wait years to upgrade my next mobile device to RT and that volume shipments would be out by now with small shipments last year turning into volume in 2017. Also that RT licences are including within PowerVR as its a GPU so not listed separately. So yes I am a little upset at being mislead as RT was one of the IP's I based my investment off.

None of that matters anymore like others I have lost my love of IMG and all I am doing is waiting for a bid so I can reinvest in other places. Its been a fun 20+ years but it might be time to move on soon. I still have a lot of found memory's of visiting IMG HQ and unofficially working with the driver team back in the PC GPU days.

Lest we forget - the sale process for MIPS and Ensigma started on 4 May ! And by 22 June "indicative proposals have been received for both businesses". So there have been deals on the table for the two unwanted business arms for 13+ weeks and no details have been released for either. Hardly sounds like the Chuckles' are finagling any sort of movers/shakers special deal does it ?

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and accept they are using these proposals to eek a little extra out of the sale of the whole group but come on ! Given that they do not have a glorious history of eeking out every last penny from their sale of corporate assets I'm not sure they deserve it.

If it turns out that PowerVR doesn't get sold then it must surely now have been hobbled by 3+ months of uncertainty stopping anyone who was on the fence from signing the lifeblood of any IP business - licenses.

Prove me wrong Barry and Paul. To you.

Sure to be passed after the 6 week consultation period, it actually makes a lot of sense. I think any bidder for IMG will have to comply with the actions stated NOW and that may be causing delays, I really don't see it as a major problem.

One point , I got fed up of HY constantly prattling on about the 'disruptive ' nature of ray-tracing ....and that was 3 years ago,( many years after the caustic acquisition), is is still disruptive? ?;-)

Agreed, it's very frustrating, but we have to assume talks with multiple parties are continuing, because if any part of their announcement had changed they have to tell the market. I know I'm stating the bloody obvious, but I keep reminding myself that that must be the situation. Certainly didn't expect it to take anything like this long.

On Thursday it will be a whole calendar quarter since the official announcement. You can infer another 2 weeks of interest to that by reading the RNS. It's really too long for not a single snippet to have emerged.

Our old pal CB3 jumped the gun a while ago, his 'Chinese takeaway' hasn't materialised and the much rumoured Canyon Bridge connection hasn't been mentioned in dispatches in terms of impending news for some time.

It's complicated I'm sure, and there's a lot to look at I guarantee, but 13 (+2) weeks is stretching credibility. Any interested party would surely just start their bid options assuming no further Apple revenues and work out the numbers from there, even anticipating being rebuffed, but you'd think there would be something announced by someone from either side in an effort to encourage shareholders one way or the other that something, anything, is on the table.

Regarding my post from last night about the sudden drop in closing price after hours..... Isn't it strange that on iii the closing price is shown as approx. 136 this morning after dropping to 130 after the close last night when 2 very late transactions at a low price were posted???

I have this theory..... competitors of IMG are spreading rumours of security concerns about the potential take over of IMG by Canyon Bridge. The more that the rumours appear in the press the more credible the take over story becomes and the higher IMG's share price rises! :-)
