I understand all the negative sentiment here. Management credibility is shot and institutions won't touch this again anytime soon. However as said before, if Goliath technology is genuinely industry leading a battery or Auto OEM will take a stake at a valuation far in excess of the current market value. So on a risk/reward basis I'll add on weakness.

If they had some world-leading tech it might be different.

I don't think they are deluding themsemselves; I think the understand perfectly well that they have nothing to offer. Unfortunately that does not seem to stop them pretending otherwise.

ken - surely you mean bottom drawer? It could take some time...

The original plan was to prototype to proof of concept and manufacturability, then let the professionals take over for mass production. Unfortunately for Stereax none of the big boys has shown any inclination to start manufacture so Ilika is trying to do it themselves. I imagine Goliath will go the same way unless there's a massive Government intervention, which is not something that can be relied on.

I saw them as a battery manufacturer focussed on commercialisation of their products.

“We see Ilika as a critical knowledge hub within the UK battery industry, totally focussed around solid state technology and over time helping to create a supply chain that could then go on to support a global solid state battery industry.”

Hey Supernumeray

Took some time away from the boards after the last debacle. Another self imposed deadline missed and another shocking market update.

One for the top drawer I think. Will check back on 6 months

Directors haven't made anything. This would be 20p already but I think someone is taking up the sellers stock.

This was £1.90 exactly one year ago, directors have made their money and onto the next grant funded pipe dream. Looking at current price action, We should see next leg down into the 20p’s by mid next week along with a holdings announcement, someone is bailing not accumulating.

For Goliath prospects see Stereax.

Yes management have dropped the ball here but the crucial question remains whether Goliath tech has any value. And no one really knows.

rogk/buzzthomas you are the ultimate Ilika super-troll! FWIW I think you have been right about most things IKA related going back to at least 2015. Lack of director investment here is a massive red flag to me and I see no prospect of any returns for anyone invested now. A sorry state of affairs. Glad I got out when I did and just about recovered my losses of several years at the time!

significantly more forensic insight shown regarding the company challenges by horneblower etc on this board than demonstrated by the actual ilika board.

ah yes.. a company run by academics feeding on the grant funding teat.
I feel sorry for the trusting pi’s who’ve been hoodwinked

When the dust settles it will be interesting to see what direction the company goes in next. Stereax and Goliath are very different technologies and clearly the management have no idea about moving from lab to manufacturing. Radical action required but who will hold management to the fire

Not a ponzi scheme but a lifestyle company for the deluded, I'm afraid.

Shocking lack of scientific interrogation by the institutions that wasted their funds imo...but they probably have degrees in PPE and English.

I remember my order to sell this at 194p and it only reached 192p. The tech seemed so promising, but turns out to have just been a Ponzi scheme. I'm down about 70% since the primary bid placing.

I wonder if kenjen still thinks other very similar tech coming on stream 'has to be good'?

Looks like Stereax will never wash its face - 5 years before they can fill existing capacity. Did they really need the production line now? And Goliath performance is woeful - far below what investors were led to expect. Energy density parity (maybe) at end-2023, and no statement on any of the other performance parameters - recharge time, max cycles etc. And then they have to start building production capacity.

So even with all the grants, and a big chunk of cash in the bank, it looks as though they won't escape without another big fund raise in a couple of years.

One to watch from the sidelines I'm afraid.

Two price monitoring extensions before 10am to try and slow the stampede for the door.
If the power output of Goliath has been improved by 80% this year and is still falling way short of a lithium ion car battery, lord knows how woeful the output was last year?!? Atleast we now know why all their automotive partners walked away.
More red flags than a golf course.

Hey investors, I’ve found a new EV battery to rival lithium ion, it has a highly competitive price point, ready for immediate deployment and sourced via renewable and sustainable sources, hear me out..

Q: OK.. Is it a lemon with some copper & zinc strips in it?
A: Yes.
Q: Will it match the output of a Lithium-ion EV battery?
A: Errrr.. Can I have my government grant now please?

What an absolute shambles

Under 1yr ago this was over £2.00 and I kicked myself for missing the boat. Seems the boat I missed is more Titanic than something seaworthy!

I'm afraid they simply don't have the tech...or the management.

Pretty clear now why the CFO left. He knew the revenue projections given out to support the last fundraisings were pie in the sky. At least the co has cash as no chance of investor support. Development partner needed for Goliath ... needs cash and industrial might
