Yep, looks like something very similar supernumerary. Great to see the tech is viable and already making its way onto market. The SSB market is going to be big. Let’s hope ilika get a decent share of it…

Not sure how market ready this is but looks like they are going to market with evaluation kits too, so perhaps at the same stage as ilika?

Are these Stereax? If not, what are they?

Energy and Power without constraints !
ITEN micro-batteries are all rechargeable 3D solid-state batteries operating on a broad operating temperature range (up to -40°C +85°C) and featuring lifespan from 10 to 20 years.

Silver green check
Their high energy storage density is ideal for applications where very small footprints are required; in addition, their disruptive technology enables storing energy but also delivering high power and peak currents (e.g. a 500µA.h micro-battery can deliver peak currents up to 200mA) required to power up RF transmissions under various protocols (BluetoothTM, ZigbeeTM, LoRATM, SigfoxTM, NB-IoTTM or LTE-MTM) for data delivered by autonomous wireless sensors. All that in a footprint of a few mm² and a volume of around 12mm3.

For specific applications, the micro-battery thickness can even be cut down to 330µm. The same technology enables very fast recharging of the micro-battery at constant voltage: the time to recharge the micro-battery to a SOC of 50% is less than 60 seconds. Designers of electronic systems shall also like the low self-discharge rate and their ability to withstand more than 2000 charge/discharge cycles at 75% DOD (@room temperature).

To be honest if stereax can produce some sort of revenue then ongoing operational costs are covered. We would still need to use a significant amount of the 20m in the bank to build the Goliath facility as ukbic but I’m not worried about finances. If stereax doesn’t materialise then different ball game.

Cheers Kenjen, do you know what the money in bank vs. cash burn looks like? Fund raising isn't going to get any easier in the near term if required.

Let’s be honest, the institutional investors thought they were getting a bargain at 140p. There is so much scope here for share price movement it’s not real. That won’t happen until management prove they have what it takes. Tick tock

@hornblower. So I do believe that SSB are the way forward. That’s the tech I support. Ilika are providing ongoing samples of both stereax and Goliath. So the ability to produce the tech is there. The questions are around scale now horneblower and commercialisation. For which we await the answers. If stereax product can be delivered, which is again what the company are saying I think the future is bright.

@phil2003 yes it’s long way from the heady heights of 280p and in theory we are two years further forward. But again until I see a market strategy and both a product and customers I’m holding. That’s what any business is about a product and customers who want the product. Ilika feel so close but at the same time so far from this. The management must deliver. If they can’t them let someone else take over.

Kenjen, if this level doesn’t hold its a long way down..
I sold out at 140p which felt low at the time and, like alot of others, haven’t seen any reason from management/updates to reinvest, esp apparent global apathy regards Goliath ‘tech’..

You guys keep saying the tech is there.
What tech exactly?

I agree this is about risk and reward. The challenge we may face is that the market has lost faith in current management. The tech is there no doubt. But the ability to commercialise may be beyond current team. They went to market at 1.40 for the placing, well below the then market price and promised stereax would be available in q2 22. They missed that deadline by miles! Not even close and still we wait. Who would trust this team now? The market doesn’t. Share price 47p. Shocking. Where is the new CFO that was meant to be brought in? Where is the update on stereax? Where are the Goliath customers? So many questions. So few answers. I totally belief in the science and the product they have but I don’t believe in the current management. Problem for me and many others is that we naively did believe in them and bought in at prices way higher than this. So what do we do, sell at a loss because the management can’t meet their own targets?

All about risk and reward. Downside is lose a significant chunk of value. Upside is multiple returns. Management here have always been cautious and don't shout about their tech. Critical period ahead with Stereax first commercial sales and potential Goliath partnerships. I'm happy to be a long term holder as part of balanced portfolio

So.. in a nutshell NASA reveal they’ve been working on solid state battery tech for years, unprofitable, jam tomorrow, grant funded IKA no longer mentioned next to its contemporaries in this space and have a share price firmly on a pennant shaped downward trajectory with volumes confirming investors are loosing interest…

To invest or walk away with whatever money you have left here?
Not rocket science is it.

NASA now into SSBs. Many of the big boys mentioned here and their various developments in the field. Not even a passing mention of minnows like IKA.

Grants are OK, but selling stuff is better.

This is the new Google watch. Why doesn't it have a solid state battery? Or at least a roadmap towards one?

Or to put it another way, why doesn't Ilika have (a path towards) a solution for this requirement?

Govt announced 211m pound funding uplift for UK battery R & D through the Faraday Battery Challenge. Surely IKA can get a piece of that to support Goliath scale up.

Interesting AMTE announcement re UKBIC scale up. Means UKBIC will be up and running well ahead of IKA Goliath production. Should be an opportunity to share staff & some equipment.

Agree ITM and Ceres are different but both are Uk green tech companies on fancy valuations that have stumbled on their scale up plans and have been duly punished. Still believe in IKA as long term bet not trading play

Not sure ITM & Ceres are close comparables really.. they're into hydrogen production. ok they're all 'green' and 'renewables' in a loose sense, but very different markets.

Companies such as AMTE and Britishvolt are probably better as comparators/competitors in the UK.. for Goliath only, not Stereax.

Current weakness not due to recent presentation etc. More to do with recent news from peers ITM and Ceres in my view. Value in $ terms net of £20m cash is c$75m. If and I accept it is if Stereax commercialisation happens that will be absurdly cheap, plus likely OEM interest in Goliath. Just imagine if Apple wanted their tech $$$$$

Re: Goliath specific timings from AGM “Ilika are increasingly being turned to for advice and samples”..

No commercial nouse or sense of urgency whatsoever by management, another bumbling grant funded pipe dream readily giving away its developments to Korea & China

Suspect the horror RNS from ITM has spooked things here. Scaling up new tech isn't easy and founders often don't have the right skills. Just hope IKA have the required experience with recent hires

Revenue is due to begin later this year with the first sales of the m300 battery Blackhorse. Delayed release from may due to production issues. Not saying cury is bad but strange time to “switch” given production merely months away?
