For me the most interesting part of the presentation was where they talked about the planning rules, and Hopkinson, having got past reading out his slides, became slightly animated.

They said they were having to provide the same information to various bodies in different formats. They had been in touch with the government to give their opinion of what planning reforms were needed, *but now it was the government calling them*.

I might have to take a punt on AJL at some point. The Aussies won't care so much about the UK going into the Zombie Apocalypse, they will just look at all those dollars beneath the earth. Or at least that's my theory.

Thank you for telling us that A J Lucas is raising A$20 million by an issue of new shares.
Unfortunately I do not have a subscription to the news service to which you kindly provide a link but the details should be available on ASX tomorrow. I expect a price of about 12c. At 12c the market cap of AJL would be about $144m before the new issue.
The formal notice, when it comes, might tell us when Cuadrilla expect to restart their operations.

The latest press release from Net Zero Watch includes these recommendations:

All obstacles to the development of unconventional fossil fuel resources in the UK must be removed.

In particular:

* Replace the current traffic light system, based on seismicity, with BS5228-2, the ground-acceleration standard applied to other industries.

* Fossil fuel extraction to be categorised as Nationally Significant Infrastructure under the terms of the Planning Act. This should include projects in Scotland.

* Planning applications for shale wells must cover drilling pads rather than individual wells.

* Get coalbed methane and coal seam gasification projects going again, overruling Holyrood if necessary
