LOL!

So funny. you can just see the angst and anger of being taken apart on advfn,.
Gone has the flimsy act of being an expert on climate or fracking and now the little man is Rambo, only, he's the behind the monitor version.

Its stupid looking at UK emissions alone. Especially when so much of what we use is made for us in China, who use immense amounts of coal to make and refine the metals, and to power the plants that make all the consumer items we use. Then there is the shipping, global shipping emits more than twice as much CO2 as the UK. So the supply chain also has to be considered.

Wind power is a fat lot of good when we have a high pressure system in the winter - clear skies, freezing nights and no wind for one or more weeks. Shame we didn't go for tidal or geothermal power.

LNG is great - used to be involved in that industry. They have to separate the gas and oil at the wells (they burn some of the gas to run the process), they burn gas to power the liquefaction plant, they have boil-off gas which they burn during the shipping and of course the ships make a lot of CO2 using their own fuel too, then they have to gasify and recompress the gas (powered by more of the gas). So its not all that efficient, and right now we have to pay a fortune for it.

Its no use looking purely at UK emissions and trying to be green, thats as stupid as the German green party pressing to go non-nuclear and buying their electricity from France - who use nuclear power to generate it.

Thats why there is a lot of sense in reducing supply chains - shipping stuff halfway round the world when you can make it at home is not only environmentally daft, it is economically daft too as the billions we pay out to Qatar, Brunei, Algeria, Australia or wherever we get LNG from is a real loss on the UK balance sheet.

If the earths orbit tends to tilt on its axis, would you not expect slight variations in temperature but it doesn't explain the abnormal warming that we've observed in only the last century which if one tried to unravel accordingly is likely to relate to human activity of the industrial revolution or better known as the greenhouse effect...But is that how some du_mb fu_ck tries to demonstrate his wealth of knowledge to others but maybe allow your 8 year old to assist you in future hey!

...And whilst I'm not Bulgarian, watch the ra_cial inferences in future because I really dont take kindly to nonsense unless ones willing to meet and bring that sl_ag of an English mo_ther because I'll cut her fu_ckin ears out while you watch and feed them to you and I really dont mess around but I'll bring the flake so we'll have a proper shindig with family et al if you get my drift you little fu_ckin deluded pu33yhole.

VariesI agree with you and it would be appreciated if those with a political agenda kept away as they clearly do not want fracking for whatever reason and they appear to have no financial interest in the company.

I hope some person in the know, reminds Liz T, not do a thatcher & spend all the profits.
This time we can have a national fund a La/ Norway with just a 1% levy.

I wish !

OK, not IGAS specific, but useful quick summary from Cuadrilla of the current fracking position.

Cuadrilla Resources Limited (“Cuadrilla221;) welcomes today’s Government announcement that the moratorium on hydraulic fracturing, introduced in November 2019, is to be lifted.

Cuadrilla CEO Francis Egan said “I am very pleased that the new Government has acted quickly to lift the moratorium. This is an entirely sensible decision and recognises that maximizing the UK’s domestic energy supply is vital if we are going to overcome the ongoing energy crisis and reduce the risk of it recurring in the future.

The last few months have highlighted the risks associated with ever increasing reliance on expensive, uncertain, and higher emission gas imports. Without the strong measures set out today, the UK was set to import over two thirds of its gas by the end of the decade, exposing the British public and businesses
to further risk of supply shortage and price hikes down the line.

Any rational analysis of UK energy supply, including those put forward by the Climate Change Committee, recognise that our transition to Net Zero will require the continued use of gas until at least 2050. Today’s announcement sets the foundation for us to move towards gas self-sufficiency, and not be reliant on the whims of dictators, or the vagaries of international supply lines and prices.

A thriving shale gas industry will drive job creation across the North of England, generate much needed tax revenues for central and local government, and benefit local communities financially.

The Government has made the right call, and we look forward to working with them to ensure this industry can start generating results as soon as possible. The prize if we get this right will be an energy strategy fit for the 21st century, that provides security of supply, economic prosperity, and vital support to the British public.

We look forward to getting started.

Such incredible knowledge you have that I feel so totally bemused hehe!

...Firstly, the 'Ice Ages' are triggered and concluded by slow changes in the earths orbit as it tends to tilt on its axis and so the angle relative to the sun affects the amount of sunlight that reaches Earth so less energy from the sun means colder temperatures you silly buffoon!

...And secondly, the greenhouse effect predominantly arose from the industrial revolution which saw human activities releasing large amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and yes of course natural processes, such as changes in the sun's energy and volcanic eruptions also affect the earth's climate, however, they do not explain the warming that we have observed in only the last century you du_mb fu_ck!

...But you must be the epitome of clueless, fe_ckless, deluded mug but try not to waste my time in future with responding to all your utter nonsense as I can certainly use my time rather more productively elsewhere!

Yes, I agree and sorry for that but this idiot is posting his nonsense on here about fracking and co2 when in reality he's using these as nothing more than a pretentious low ball way to try and continue his undermining of igas.
As you can see doesn't like to be proven totally incorrect and has zero knowledge on the climate save the usual MSM propaganda.

lol he spends all day avoiding answering a simple question and then asks me to answer his.

Here is a perfect example of a cult. They start from the incorrect position that climate variant is new and just stated in the last 250 years since the heavy industry started.
That is important for them because even homeschoolers can see from ice to now took natural warming.
so for the climate change sect, the clock only starts 200-300 years ago!

Then they never use figures because if I told you that even IPCC figures show only 0.8 degrees Celsius increase in the last 130 years it doesn't really scare people into putting the western world back into the dark ages on the back of voodoo science.

All this despite large evidence data showing the temperature has changed consistently through the 5.5 billion years the earth has been around.
Using his man-made CO2 logic, surely we would still be in the ice age?

There is, for example, large-scale evidence that in Roman times it was 4 degrees warmer than now
Grapes were grown in the northern Uk or more famously known as the Roman Warming research, likewise the medieval warming, with no manmade co2.
would it be strange that civilization flourished and grew in times warmer than now as in Roman times but now it's an Ultimate threat to the world right now 3.2 degrees lower??

But more damaging for your claims that man affects the climate is the 1997 ice drilling that took ice cores from 10 thousand years ago to now, they show throughout history a 2-degree variance in this time consistently happening either warming or cooling.

That said you have a fundamental problem that I already raised, why do you think you can manage and understand the planet when for the last 5.5 billion years the planet has managed it without issue? do you really think the IPCC IS SMARTER THAN THE PLANET?

Moreover, unlike you, I don't believe I know it all, so I am always open to science as science never ends, Note how unlike you I did not say that man-made CO2 definitely has no like on climate. The subject is fluid and not settled.
The fact that Climate change as we know it today was invented by half a dozen political activists, and green campaigners with paid-for dodgy science doesn't make me overconfident on its fcat.
meanwhile, you are just a closed-minded bigot who can't even articulate one sentence in defense of his sheepish MSM views on climate.

Now if you would be so kind to answer in your own words the question you have avoided for 60 posts.
