I am so glad to see your posts.
For this is worth I have extracted the following figures from the latest balance sheets : IGAS 31 Dec 2021 and AJL 30 June 2022.
IGAS
mkt cap at 92p = £116 million
Non-current assets £159m + current assets £10m. Total assets £169m
Non-current liabilities £88m + current liabs £12m. Total liabs £100m.
Net assets £69m

A J LUCAS figures in A$ (£1= A$1.69)
mkt cap at 17.5c = $210m (say £124m)
NCA $198m +CA$34m. Total assets $232m
NCL $78m + CL $59m. Total liabilities $137m
Net assets $95m (say £56m)

AJL's business is not, of course, concentrated in oil and gas since it provides services in Australia to companies extracting metallurgical coal.
Its debt is largely short-term and rather worrying in my view.
As to which of these two companies has the better shale prospects, we may not learn for some time.

Disappointing finish, but the lack of P.I posting on here and on LSE indicates a lack of general interest. I accidentally found the IGAS site in the middle of the countryside when mountain biking back in the Easter bank holiday when this stock was 40p. (See further up the thread when I posted, post 8901) I don't think people realise the potential that we are sitting on a "world class shale resource" as per latest RNS. The bickering on here is to put people off - trust no poster on these forums!
