You're welcome Welsh.

Are they a recent "Techinvest" tip? I haven't subscribed for years but recall they had an excellent record.

Continue to add here and utilised much of my spare ISA capacity over recent sessions.

GHF

Thanks for your posts guys.

APAD - Not sure what you mean about listening to the presentation? In July the Directors agreed to provide a web based meeting with PIs...it was an event that you simply chose to take part in & designed so those based outwith London wouldn't miss out.

I asked if the could replicate this in the future and as I recall they provided a commitment to do a webcast a couple of times a year....probably best timed to coincide with release of results.

G & y,
Interesting isn't it.
I was in BRY, briefly, and emerged with a v. small profit at 90odd pence.
The reason I exited was a great presentation by a US competitor. BRY's presentation was distilled management speak and the US guy's was full of facts put into the context of their own history and related to their strategy.
I'll have a go at listening to the IDEA presentation when the weather breaks G.
I'm extraordinarily leary about software companies y, because I used to run a software research group and because the history of software companies is akin to the Somme.
I have a large (for me) holding in TRCS simply because they were generating data as well as supplying the software for its analysis. That was the 'moat' for me.

"3 companies in CEO's CV are still trading :-) "

I laughed at that. Nice to know I'm not the only cynic.

I don't know that much about the market the company works in, so I'm basically following the performance as a clue to whether its one of many or has some unique points that will cause growth. (Or unique management of course, which is possibly just as important).

We'll have to disagree APAD. I believe that there are decent barriers to entry and the CEO & FD answered these points in detail during the recent webcast in July.

Pity so few investors took the time to log on & listen to the presentation with the management team providing considerable time for questions & detailing the fragmented market; drivers for growth in Healthcare following NPfIT, MOREC, Kelsey/Hunt & clarification on their competition & differentiators.

GHF

Been watching these since the placing (not only a software company but a software company buying other software companies!)
Haven't bought, mainly because of low barriers to entry. Lots of software companies out there in the healthcare sector, and open source software.
Can't convince myself that compliance knowledge is enough of a special factor (tempting though this is).
Spread of customers is attractive.
No jobs on offer (38 employees).
3 companies in CEO's CV are still trading :-)
Les Paul - interesting background (as well as iconic name :-)

Couldn't resist a few more in my ISA. They appear to be gaining considerable traction in the healthcare sector.

www.ideagenplc.com/Information/Article/44/august-healthcare-news-from-ideagen

Welcome to the August healthcare news from Ideagen

In this issue we are taking our products on tour to the green hills of Scotland where we're attending Health Informatics in Edinburgh. A week later we're at IBMS Biomedical Science Congress in Birmingham and ending our autumn travels at Healthcare Strategy Forum in Manchester.

We're also delighted to announce Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospital's latest PatientFirst order as well as present you with our keynote article and the benefits for business of using KnowledgeWorker solution from Ideagen.

Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospital to implement Ideagen's Patient First system
We're excited to unveil Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospital's latest order of the Patient First system from Ideagen.

The Hospital have purchased the full Patient First Emergency solution including bi-directional integration to the Trust's PAS system and integration to the Trust's Order Communications. The Trust is targeting a 'go-live' in November 2013.

The new system will provide the Trust with access to A&E database; local and remote PMI database as well as postcode search to assist with patient identification. On top of these high-level benefits, the solution will also provide the Hospital with patient location tracking, access to past history as well as stored electronic patient documents.

Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital services to a large and diverse population of more than 450,000 which includes Ascot, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Slough, south Buckinghamshire and Windsor.

Patient safety and care must come first

Due to the ever increasing demand on the A&E departments and their services, it's become clear that patient care and safety must be addressed first, as a priority. Patient First solution enables instant access to the correct information aiding the department to meet their ever increasing targets and demands of NHS.

To find out more how Ideagen's Patient First solution can help your department, please visit our website. Alternatively, email us for further details.

Keynote article - Electronic Medical Records business case
A widespread implementation and use of electronic medical record (EMR) systems has now been recognised as a cornerstone by NHS executives as a strategy for systematically reducing medical errors and improving clinical quality.

However, EMR adoption requires a significant capital investment for NHS Trusts, and cost can be cited as a barrier to success. Paper intensive processes and a large reduction of medical record staff, of course, add a huge weight to creating a viable business case to digitization of medical records. However there are many other benefits that can be achieved. These include:

Release of storage space
Patient record availability
Improved data security
Improved clinical coding

How can Ideagen help YOU? If you are currently investigating the feasibility of digitising your medical records then talk to Ideagen and we will work with you to produce a detailed, structured and viable business case.

To find out more about Ideagen's EMR solutions, visit our website.

Business benefits of using Ideagen's KnowledgeWorker solution
Corporate content is one of the most valuable assets of any organisation and is often completely unmanaged. It is believed that employees can spend 40% of a working day looking for emails, documents and presentations with all the added problems of untangling issues with versioning, ownership, and reformatting.

This issue is addressed by Ideagen's KnowledgeWorker solution. It covers all aspects of content & document management, storing, indexing, classifying and cataloguing information from all sources including; electronic documents, scanned documents, web forms, email, and output from core business applications.

KnowledgeWorker is used in various public sector companies, including Medical Defence Union, Gloucester NHS Trust and Birmingham City Council.

If you would like to find out how KnowledgeWorker can boost YOUR organisation's content and document management, please get in touch.

Upcoming events
This September we're taking our products on tour to Edinburgh, Birmingham and Manchester (early October). Here are the events we're attending:

Health Informatics Scotland - 18th-19th September - Edinburgh
IBMS Biomedical Science Congress - 23rd-25th September - Birmingham
Healthcare Strategy Forum - 1st-2nd October - Manchester
If you're around, why not pop in and say 'hello'? It would be great to see you and catch up!

We would also like to invite you to our Healthcare Conference (hashtag #ICHC2013) this November. One of the biggest events in Ideagen's healthcare calendar will marry up the Pathology Focus with the Healthcare and Paperless Challenge to offer you the best themed conference experience of the year!

Taken further 100k this morning...thanks to change in ISA's which are now permitted to hold AIM stocks ;-)

During the recent Webcast the CEO and FD intimated that the recurring revenue base here was increasing further and now covered 85% of the fixed cost base. So overall this translates in total recurring revenue increasing to 45% of turnover, up from the 38% on admission to AIM last year.

With healthcare revenues growing at 25% organically; EBITDA margins growing to 31%; contract renewal rates of 95% & strong cashflow (conversion 110% EBITDA) etc, etc, etc...plus net cash of c.£6 million on the b/s, these look excellent value over the medium term IMHO. All on a prospective PER 11 on a standalone basis, or PER of 8 if netting off the excess cash.

GHF

Been adding consistently to my IDEA holding following receipt of an excellent presentation from the CEO, FD and Head of Sales & Marketing a couple of weeks ago...and which invitation was extended via this thread.

I was disappointed by the turnout as I noted on Motley Fool, but the upside was it allowed clarification on a number of points and aided my own understanding and appreciation of the company. I believe there were a few technical hitches which meant a few investors couldn't access the web cast but the IDEA team indicated a willingness to engage with PIs using a similar format a couple of times per year...and credit to them for keeping PIs in the loop and affording them the opportunity to quiz management no matter where domiciled (as long as you have a wifi connection and a PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet).

Anyway, the recurring revenue streams are absolutely fantastic here and the benefit of organic growth of 25% in healthcare will be self evident via accelerating earnings growth in 2014/15.

Very happy to tuck these away.

Regards,
GHF

FinnCap's telecoms and technology analyst Andy Darley picks IDEA as one of three companies from the many AIM-listed technology companies according to an article on the iii site published today under the heading 'AIM stocks for your ISA'

Am I missing something? I've been following this CO for a while with a view to buying but the latest figures show a loss of £1.5m and negative EPS.
