12/8/2001 17:23 | Hi ya kayak Sorry to differ, but I do like to do that. If 1% of the offer swamps all the bids I get into a comfort zone! | byrdsong
12/8/2001 17:15 | A single drop-down menu selecting a percentage to display on both sides of the order book, rather than two as at present? When would anyone want different percentages on either side? Never... | kayak
12/8/2001 16:45 | lesk lol I think that's already covered with Alpesh Patel! | byrdsong
12/8/2001 16:40 | Do you think they could list all the stocks that were going to go up by more than 50% in the next month and stream them for me.. | lesk
12/8/2001 16:36 | We all know that streaming L2 is the next development. Let's help ADVFN make it the best, like the streaming L1. My idea, which I floated in a thread a couple of weeks ago is brilliant, but I'm biased! I'd like to see a L2 link to the TOP LISTS. For sets stocks I'd like a list of stocks that had significant order imbalances with user selection of %, just like now on the L2 pages. For seaq stocks perhaps where only one mm is on the bid or offer, although the large number of seaq stocks may mean a mkt cap filter to reduce the numbers. Any one else got thoughts on this? Or do you have your own ideas? If so post below. I guess this is as good a time as any! | byrdsong

01/4/2001 23:17 | Managed to get my 'shorting' account open with perfect timing - just at the market began to rise.First two selections on Friday Barclays & Lloyds so i hope your comments above prove to be correct, having spent the last two months sweating over the possibility of a large fall i now find myself doing the opposite!(also short on the June Dow). Funny how your positions cloud your judgement , having been convinced we were in for major falls , i have now nearly convinced myself a rally is on the way! | taximania

31/3/2001 17:53 | Closing positions on Friday: FTSE 5633: DOW 9878 : NASDAQ 1840 As usual a quick a review of last weeks trading.......... Personally I found the stock market torn between rally and fall and this always leads to quick profit taking on shares. It was very difficult to leave open positions as sentiment changed so quickly. One of the unexpected moves was the renewed strengh in the banking sector which caught out several of our traders on Thur & Fri. Crocodile (Moi): Guessed the market was in for some sideways trading, needless to say that was only worth 3/10 with tech shares falling on the week and oldie's gaining. My RTO short selection was worth a few points at the final bell, it would have been much better but the company buyback was renewed. Bird: Was more on form with a bullish prediction on the markets for the week. The Player: GOLD AWARD with pointing out that Selfridges was overbought and it promptly fell 12.5% on the week! Moonblue: Hope you sorted out that big basket of tech shares you left open last weekend! Legilly: Also was left sitting on the sidelines but Jack (Rayrac) decided to wind everybody up by saying "Shorting is the most dangerous and stupid way of trying to make money on the stockmarket" Now to next week .................... I am feeling a lot more bearish this weekend with a strong week of US corporate results to come. Also many forecasts will be downgraded to take account of the worldwide economic slowdown. In the UK especially the affects of Foot & Mouth are going to have severe repercussions across the board. So my chosen share this weekend is a SHORT I expect they will suffer from the slowdown with lower advertising revenus and also a potentially large loss on it's US acquisition. I expect a shorterm fall of about 20%. Also I still feel that the Banking sector is heading for a BIG fall so I will be looking to short Barc & Lloyds on any downturn REPORTING NEXT WEEK MON 2nd April Man Utd (FTSE 250): Interims Alizyme (FTSE Smallcap): Finals Dewhirst (FTSE Smallcap): Finals Also reporting: Bond International, Enterprise.
