For me I am confident the deal would have gone ahead except for the potential investor structural issues. The door is very warmly being left open for them but quite rightly we wont sit around and wait, so pressure is on them but now also any potential new player to try to move quickly, taking advantage of the situation.

Pressure is on the jv partner then.

Agree that this suggests they believe Repsol's internal issues WILL be resolved:

"While some of these remain outstanding, i3 stands ready to consider the potential farminee's proposal at such time as their structural issues have been resolved".

I also think they will be getting huge amounts of interest in the current oil price environment and appointing an advisor is a good idea to ensure they get the best deal available.

Very positive news in my opinion.

PIs will have sold and moved on. V tightly held so, will 'naturally' move up. Also big newsflow

I can see a slow recovery to 100p over next 2 months. Jv imo very likely to be signed in in early December or after the xmas/New year holidays.

Caters, possible but unlikely imo. If it does not happen, it’s back to the original plan to raise debt to drill Liberator 1, use the $13m already offered to drill the appraisal and then either JV then or use cash flow to leverage more debt for more drills. It will take longer but we keep 100% of the asset.

I disagree, The potential farminee's proposal is still there, nothing to stop them signing up - it is up to them. They have I would suggest a few weeks before other interested parties catch up, so it's make or break for them over the next few weeks.I reckon they will be under tremendous pressure. You don't work with a team on the ground alongside us, agreeing the legalities and the well location without intent.Next few weeks could be very interesting, as after that this other party likely loses the beauty contest.

The downside from here is that i3 doesn't get a farm out.As time goes by, the expectation will be that i3 does get a farm out. The share price will slowly move up.Only if it becomes completely obvious that i3 won't get a farm out will the share price fall heavily. We won't know that for months.

I am and added 10k this morning. Happy to continue doing so until the end of the year at this price or lower. Enjoy the next months relaxing.

HG. It’s a shame but I agree. I can’t see the price doing much until JV done which is likely to be January and FDP approval shortly thereafter. A real opportunity atm for those willing to wait a few months.

Share price will probably stay around current levels until the timescales for a prospective JV come into focus (January 2019). One to watch for the next 2-3 months.
The BOD are highly motivated with multimillion reasons to get a deal done; the asset ain’t worth much unless a deal is done..

I think this says it all, remember this has had to go through our Nomad: "Liberator has received strong interest to date and both i3 and our A&D advisor believe this farmout process to be well-timed"

But nametrade, you are labouring the point.Methinks you're after a cheaper entry point. If you thought that i3 won't get a farm out, you wouldn't even be here.

Shows you've never been involved in any commercial transaction let alone a JV on a oil prospect development

I did wonder how long Mr 5k would wait before starting the days trades

Not long obviously and his sell, as usual, carries a lot more impact than any buys

We are where we are.
Heres to the next 6 months and hopefully a good deal....sounds like I'm on about Brexit!
Thanks all for the discussion.

Nametrade. This is a potential $200m facility. The FDP is more advanced, oil is higher. They have a few months to complete, they are not desperate, cast a wide net to get the best deal. This is the right course of action imo.

Nametrade, this is a complex contract agreement, it's not the same as going in to see the bank manager for a overdraft facility.

Showme, without labouring the point, well before the 90 day exclusivity they say they had multiple interested parties.
Now, if one potiental JV doesn't work out, you have a list, you phone the next?

As mentioned before I'm not going anywhere as the potential of the asset is too good to walk away from. Still think 200p on the cards early next year.

This is exactly on par with what this board has discussed in the last week.We previously restricted talks to a select number of parties, the net is widening.Today's RNS indicates a lot of interested parties, the current price has overswung.I'm very happy to watch things unfold from here, Brent oil and the returns here are much higher than since previous talks. In a sweet spot here.

The other offers were before West Lib was acquired and when oil was at $60. The worth of Liberator has grown substantially since then and I want full value to be extracted.

Again, maybe lessons learned from not seeking the professional input and guidance of an A&D advisor last time?

While i3e were in an exclusive period for 90 days, they were unable to negotiate with other parties. That’s why there is nobody else ‘ in the hat ‘.
