07/12/2018 08:05 | tournesol You have committed the cardinal sin of pointing out that people's favourite share will be judged on maklet sentiment first and foremost ( the sky is falling). I cannot believe that your post got such a reaction from LFDKMP and fatnacker. The only person demeaning himself around here is LFDKMP. | buzzzzzzzz
07/12/2018 06:48 | tournesol I fully understand your prolix verbosity. Let's try another word. - Narcissistic. There is a certain sort of intelligent person who believes that he has the monopoly of intelligence. I believe you are a member of that self-appointed group. This will be my last post to you as, yes, I do not wish to demean myself. | lfdkmp
07/12/2018 06:48 | A little less pomposity wouldn't hurt, this is a free financial bulletin board not an Eaton common room. | fatnacker
06/12/2018 21:55 | Q. I've stretched out in my garden to bask in the sunshine and it's raining on me. Why me? Who are the evil geniuses who are conspiring to rain on my parade? It's not fair. Why is it raining on the HUR garden. A. It's raining. It's raining on everybody. It's raining on every garden for miles around. Nobody is singling you out. There is no conspiracy. No wicked shorters are scheming to cheat you of the gains due to your genius for investing here. But every now and then it rains. And then everyone gets wet. And people who are solipsistic imagine they have been singled out by the rainclouds. And because they feel that way they never learn anything about weather systems, or weather forecasting or the advantages of umbrellas. So they end up much wetter than they need to be. Be calm grasshopper and look up at the clouds. Wait for the sun to break through again. And look forward to basking in the sunshine as your inner investing genius is once more restored to centre stage and once more dons the mantle of hubris. | tournesol
06/12/2018 20:22 | The guardian, I can't say for sure because I'm guessing but what about convertible bond holders neutralising their positions and being happy to simply collect a nice rate of interest or a short that has a pre arranged fixed price purchase lined up obviously for a consideration, the possibilitys are numerous and far too complex for me to understand fully but they exist that's for sure. | fatnacker
06/12/2018 19:33 | I don't think Robert Trice will be losing any sleep over slime ball hedge funds going short. I would imagine he is interested in the bigger picture and just wants to see oil flowing as projected and an oil price back at $70. He knows how attractive the assets of HUR will be then. | bocase
06/12/2018 19:07 | And that buying back without raising the share price is what no-one on here has managed to explain. | the guardian
06/12/2018 19:03 | "I do feel for Dr Trice spent all his life to get to this point and if its some slime ball hedge fund trying to get a return on their short screwing someones lifes ambition" I think you have summed it up nicely Katiegos Falling oil price - chance of a short term gain for some slime ball hedge fund. remember though, they have to buy to close though they seem to manage that somehow without causing too much a a short squeeze in my experience. | bocase
06/12/2018 18:26 | Can anyone come up with the remotest idea why there is such a big seller in this share The company that lent 500mln for the FPSO must have done some smart due diligence? Likewise Kerogene and crystal amber before we even drilled a hole in the ground, Centrica/Spirit are no mugs and must have spent months in the data room, It looks almost like someone knows better so months before we start pumping how ever much oil per day they think its worth dumping huge amounts of their holding. I do feel for Dr Trice spent all his life to get to this point and if its some slime ball hedge fund trying to get a return on their short screwing someones lifes ambition Wish i understood this stock market game a bit better Rant over roll on 50p | katiegos
06/12/2018 18:02 | petralva: The oil price is the thing to watch, not the Dow. Brent still down $2. We are looking for agreement from the Russians to agree to cut production substantially. | bocase
06/12/2018 17:18 | If the Dow doesn't regain it's losses, you can be sure hur will be pulled down Friday. | petralva
06/12/2018 17:18 | Saudi Arabia doesn’t need US permission to cut oil output – energy minister -------------------- The US is not in a position to tell OPEC or Saudi Arabia what to do, Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih told journalists when asked about Donald Trump’s reaction to curbing production of crude by the kingdom or the oil cartel. “I don’t need approval from any foreign state when it comes to the issue of energy production,” the top official said as quoted by RIA Novosti. Members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), as well as the cartel’s allies, are meeting at OPEC’s headquarters in Vienna on Thursday. The 15-member organization and non-OPEC partners, including Russia, will reportedly negotiate steep output reductions which could start in January. The measure is aimed at controlling global oil prices that have seen a dramatic crash of more than 30 percent over the last two months, placing the budgets of oil-exporting nations under considerable pressure. | the guardian
06/12/2018 16:35 | Considering DOW is off 740pts & oil -4.5%, HUR has been pretty solid today. | xxnjr1
06/12/2018 15:58 | Looks like worked sell orders have been coming to an end coupled with decent buying interest. Hey maybe someone has worked out that Hurricane will be an oil producer in 10 to 15 weeks! Also very pleasing to see the heavy volume at over 11m traded. Good to see the pipes being cleaned out! | davidblack
06/12/2018 15:35 | Just goes to show how much power there is behind hur! | rayrac
06/12/2018 15:24 | Guardian: Yes I agree. A cut of 1.3 mbd is what we are looking for as a minimum and we could get back to an average of $70+ for 2019, from what I have been reading. That would be a very positive level for HUR whose calculations and projections are based on a long term average of $70. As you say. Very encouraging to see us out performing all the other oil shares today. | bocase
06/12/2018 15:18 | We've bucked the trend! Oil down 2.8% and we are now level on the day - for now anyway. | the guardian
06/12/2018 15:16 | ..cursing Hillary! | fireplace22
06/12/2018 14:59 | TG: I think that article was written at 10am. Since then a cut has been agreed but the Russians have not agreed the size of their contribution and the market is looking for a minimum of 1.3mbd. Oil traders are wary that it could be less than 1.3mbd but at least 1mbd is likely according to CNBC We may have to wait until tomorrow for the actual figure. | bocase
06/12/2018 14:50 | Oil's on the way down again as Saudi Energy Minister threatens no production cut. | the guardian
06/12/2018 13:45 | I do hope there will be an RNS confirming she will not be going to Rotherham. | fardistanthills |
