Hi, yes just realised that!
still of some interest & relevance I think, not so much has changed in the last few months (except of course for the oil price which is in our favour and dilution which may not be although difficult to avoided at times)

Hi bountyhunter,

Report dated 5th April 2017.

I wonder what this year's list will look like - and where HUR will figure ;-> ?

"Arnott is an AIM man. Probably cause he can award himself lucrative options with little or no say from anyone."

Robert Arnott has left HUR Francis55. He was the one who wanted HUR to change and improve its governance standards.

Having held these for 2 years now I believe they may have finally got their house in order.I hope and prey AS will either be moved sideways or off the main BOD asked move towards a main listing. He can "slug" himself all he likes then. :)40p looking like it may be breached again today .....60p and beyond as we draw closer to the sailaway date for the fspo.....will we get taken out before first oil......wtfk's..Adding more today....have a feeling this will be another Edinburgh oil and gas number.

Hi MasterRSI,

I don't think Alliance (who recently wrongly reported a BOO exDirector sale as a purchase)gives any better an explanation in the extract you quoted.

The material point was, I believe, captured in the body HUR's RNS, viz.:

To affirm their independence under the provisions of the Code, Dr David Jenkins and John van der Welle have relinquished, for nil consideration, the awards previously granted to them under Hurricane's non-executive director share option plan. The Company confirms that it does not plan to make share incentive awards to non-executive directors in the future. Dr Jenkins is currently acting as Interim Chairman and will therefore only be deemed independent upon appointment of the new Chairman.

NED's independence might be compromised if they were 'incentivised' in a certain direction. The UK Corporate Governance Code says that companies subject to its code have to explain if a NED, inter alia,

has received or receives additional remuneration from the company apart from a
director’s fee, participates in the company’s share option or a performance-related pay scheme , or is a member of the company’s pension scheme;

This may, I repeat may be one of the reasons former Chairman Rob Arnott 'walked'.....

Hurricane Energy Continues Preparation For Possible Premium Listing

LONDON (Alliance News) - UK oil & gas company Hurricane Energy said it is transitioning its corporate governance policies and best practice procedures towards those of a premium listed business.

This includes compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code, a standard not required of AIM-quoted companies, in line with its intent to apply for a premium listing of a recognised stock exchange.

Hurricane Energy is currently working with executive search firm Spencer Stuart to search for a new non-executive chairman.

"I am pleased to report that Hurricane's corporate governance practices continue to be enhanced based on recommendations of the Listing and Governance Committee. We look forward to discussing our plans for further changes with major shareholders on the upcoming corporate governance roadshow as we transition our disclosure, reporting and corporate governance standards towards best practice, commensurate with a Premium Listed business," said John Van Der Welle, chairman of the Listing and Governance Committee

You can add at least 20 to 25% with a move to ftse 250 as it opens up huge box of investers who dont touch AIM companies due to slacker regulation hence rule 2 being mentioned several times in rns today and governance where directors cant help themselves or raise funding that's not needed such as the FD has done. All good news and looking like a top pick in my portfolio with a hold until first oil 2019.

Looks like HUR want to hear private investor opinions, and ii with lower % of company will have a say , perhaps corporate governance has to happen before we can move forward on any farmout,

'Corporate governance roadshow'. Sounds exciting. Will PIs have to book places and bring our own tents?

I suppose the IIs will get the mod-con equipped yurts.
