I think the news of Shell acquiring a lot of blocks adjacent to some of Hurricane's blocks is significant but the market doesn't appear bothered.

Cinques , yes will they be ringing our doorbell .

Moonlanding on lse has echoed my view that IIs have a sniff of both operations and funding that may happen sooner rather than later ( still think assets sales / cherry picking will happen , and £1 by Easter fingers crossed )

I'd say last years Seismic adjacent to our areas and nearby is linked to the Governments £20,000,000 Seismic Ooerations in most recent O&G Block Auctions , unable to get Link but Johandesilva on iii has the link , worth a read .

So is it all WOS that's an oil glut and is our succcess easily repeated by those that buy nearby !

Trailblazer springs to mind , so would you risk going down the same route as HUR or reduce your risk and buy( into or full in some form)or what you see is what you get with a significant start into production .

I've always thought this multi prong approach is a precursor to a sale of these particular assets

yes, but I prefer the quiet confidence of HUR, rather than the showmanship of the other. As soon as their flow of trivia stops they all panic.

If you think this board has too much froth, you have clearly not been exposed to the likes of the screaming lunatic asylum that is LSE and other similar establishments, hence the rock comment. Compared to them, this board is like a bunch of Trappist monks.

HUR has been trading up and down daily in a range of 50p-56p for months now so to predict it might go down is like saying I might still be breathing tomorrow. If you are that sensitive about people disagreeing with your opinion, be it right or wrong, then maybe BB's aren't for you.

As for oil fever, people are getting a little excited as we get closer to the Halifax result and the Lancaster CPR and understandably so in respect of the latter as we know that there will be a significant upgrade so, isn't that something to be eagerly anticipated...?

HOWEVER, I have lost plenty enough money in companies that hit dusters to be cautious but with maybe a couple of exceptions, I think everyone on this board is well aware of the risks so, thank you very much but I don't think we need you to pontificate to us on this subject just because we may not share your opinion.

Finally, whilst I have a rant on, I get a little bit fed up with people who go chicken and fret about dilution as we get to the business end of what has so far been a successful drilling campaign.

Oil exploration/production is an expensive business and if you DON'T expect a company that finds a shed load of oil to have to raise lots of money to extract it, possibly via some dilution, there is something very wrong with your trading philosophy and understanding.

The fact is that as others have said, we have 2 very supportive partners who have shelled out 100m plus so far and that was with a much lower price so why would they suddenly bottle it at $50 a barrel...?!!!

That said, I was involved in XEL for a while (luckily at the right time) so I am only too well aware of what can happen even if we are successful however HUR and XEL are total polar opposites in pretty much every respect in terms of how they were run and forward planning

So, if you have gone stale bull then fine, sell up if you don't believe, the rest of us who do will continue to hold and await the outcome....

Tomorrow is 23rd March. To my mind, 23rd March is very nearly "At the end of Q1 2017" rather than HUR's stated "Towards the end of Q1 2017" - getting silly now - update RNS tomorrow morning please HUR.

There are no further wells to be drilled on Halifax under this contract! Read things in a proper manner ffs!

further well?
that report in laser's post 16668 was for the current contract that started last July, and is terminating now.
Hurricane have made no statement about further wells.
It is Repsol who are taking the next contract for the rig.

I managed to pick up some more with a limit order today @ 51p

Seems common place for HUR to rise heading into the weekend, with punters hoping for a very positive rns Monday morning.

pcok new contract REPSOL SINOPEC UK 01.04.17
Semi-submersible rig Transocean Spitsbergen, built in 2010, has been awarded a one-well contract in the U.K. sector of the North Sea with Hurricane Energy starting in July 2016 and a one well contract in the Norwegian North Sea with Repsol starting in March 2017. Both contracts are at an undisclosed dayrate.

means nothing as the mariners call every offshore location an 'oilfield', it's the same with the ship charterers.

Hi laserdisc,Thank you for your many informative posts. Do you suspect the next destination is away to a new contract or have we got an extension?Either way news imminent.

Bit of a write up in the Evening Standard pointing out why the North Sea oil reserves shouldn't be overlooked. No mention of HUR, but interesting...
