I simply cannot see what impact a lone individual bashing a share on a random bb thread will have known the bigger picture.Let's face it, if all the peeps on here decided "it" was correct and sold their entire holdings, it would not even register on the sp, might give a .25 pt change......

Because buffy, you and I and most on here know what we are dealing with here but there are still many who are new to the market and aren't so experienced, they need to be shown up for what they are.

What would be more useful however would be if anyone has a decent IP tracker to see if these individuals can be traced back to a broking house. This has happened before (shock horror) and they soon go away..

Larva is a time waster.
I'm never starry eyed about any share and buy and sell in and out frequently.
However he offers no substance in his posts.
That's why I Filter him.
It's a really useful wee feature.

Why do people respond to people like larva or perhaps I should have said larvae.

Larva in particular doesn't sound very bright. Some paid bashers are quite subtle, but paid or not he comes across as an idiot.

Exxon apparently could do with some new fields to play with? Their premium rating is starting to fade given their lack of big new fields in safe places.

But how about offering 10% to one of the Chinese players as a non operator along with a big western JV lead operator.

That would put the cat in the bag?

The big fact that is missed relentlessly on Hurricane is "Where else in a politically secure environment can you find one billion barrels plus of recoverable oil."

Not many places and none in Western Europe apart from Norway if you are very very lucky and happy to work in the wild water of the Barent sea.

HomeThe Oil Man: Oil price, Hurricane Energy, RockhopperBy Malcolm Graham-Wood | Tue, 7th February 2017 - 12:12Share thisThe Oil Man: Oil price, Hurricane Energy, RockhopperWTI $53.54 -34c, Brent $56.56 -24c, Diff -$3.02 +4c, NG $3.19 +2cVery little to report, traders citing a quiet day at the bourse. The usual anti-Iran rhetoric from the USA and reports of building production domestically, so no change there. Money managers continue to increase their skin in the oil price game.Hurricane EnergyFurther good news from Hurricane Energy (HUR) this morning, which primarily validates my, and others', view that the oil in place number previously reported by the company will be significantly enhanced by the upcoming competent persons report (CPR).The company reports that further evaluation of wells 7 and 7z reinforce the view that the field is "substantial" and that previous estimates are "conservative'"and the CPR will deliver a "material uplift". Further good news is provided by the fact that the Brynhild fault separates the Lincoln/Warwick single accumulation from Lancaster and Halifax where of course there is a well drilling at present.I remain extremely confident that the CPR ahead of the final investment decision will deliver excellent results and that the company has north of a billion barrels across its acreage, more after I have spoken to Dr Trice...

First time I've had to filter someone on this board. I'm all for differing opinions, and not getting to carried away with the potential here, but I haven't the time for stupidity and tedious drivel! Rant over.

One last drill for this round into Warwick would beautifully complete this phase.

I wouldn't bet against that happening?

I distinctly remember getting excited about Hurricane lastyear when one of the old 'buried hill' images of Lancaster had a figure assigned as potential water volume (top-bottom full structure) of 30bln barrels water. Even a fraction of that would have merit.Cash

Based on that we would have a takeout range of the order of £5.50 to £9.00 a share, assuming 1.8bn shares in issue and $2.50/barrel takeout price. Can't believe the recoverable resource is that big but would be happy to be wrong.

Let's have guess...

Lancaster (just Lancaster) is heading towards 600million barrels recoverable if the bloke at WHIreland got to 439million barrels based on a 20% RF and AS is hinting at a better RF because of the lack of water.

If Halifax and Lancaster are one large field, then that 600million can be multiplied by 5 (minimum) to reflect the 30kms of Rona Ridge between Lancaster and Halifax....so 3billion recoverable there.

Similar sums can be applied to Lincoln/Warwick. What Lincoln and Warwick lack in length, they make up for in depth. Be modest and aim for 2billion, then you have the lower of Jonny's targets.

If Lancaster and Halifax are one, I personally think 3bn is probably too low. I'm not sure about Lincoln/Warwick other than it sounds potentially huge.

Warwick certainly needs a drill.

Never mind Typhoon and Whirlwind and whatever else may be lurking in the licences (quite a bit more I suspect).

ngms, recoverable, I like the sound of that but where do those numbers come from?

The Lancaster CPR will reveal a higher reserves figure, by the look of yesterday's RNS, and thereby better economics for the EPS. Any drop in PoO would have to be significant AND sustained to now throw HUR off course. IMHO.

"The only potential downer here is the PoO as demonstrated by the 2014 drop."

100% agree Cinques.

Why will it get tougher?

If a takeout is the *most* likely outcome, then isn't it a case of just hunkering down and letting Kerogen look after their interests and ours at the same time?

If no takeout, then wait for EPS?

The only potential downer here is the PoO as demonstrated by the 2014 drop. I'd be surprised if it gets as bad as that again.

Jacks thanks still 3 pounds is good from here, the problems most will have are not too far away the higher the share price moves the tuffer things will get for us shareholders? Few major decisions ahead I think
