Gold miners just need to get to the other side of the next results and then all will be well, imo.

Until then it could get very choppy.

Gold is not the issue. HUM would be worth multiples of what it is today even at $1300/oz.

The issue is fear and fear is irrational, it cares not for e.g. EV/EBITDA.

Gold could be $1000 or $2000 in a few weeks. Too much uncertainty right now.

Look guys gold still 1643, this is huge for hum only way this will tank if they send workers home due to virus and shut down mine for a while, hum not had the rise compared to other gold companies back were it was last year, Ive took a hit on a few that cashed in over the weeks and will be adding more on dips here.

Wall Street on the slide again. Profit-taking in gold?

Fiscal stimulus coming on top of near zero interest rates.

Let's hope we don't have to bail out the banks again.

It doesn't mean that they can't use some common sense and hedge their exposure to oil at this opportune time. They give themselves fing massive bonuses to go with high salaries. It is time they earned them.

thanks seagreen, nice to have that from someone who has obviously met/dealt with him. As you say, the net effect sometimes is what counts GLA

Dow Jones down 1,470 after being down over 2,000. No sign of general stock buybacks and margin debt is massive. Needs to rally or the phone lines are going to get hot by lunchtime.

Ended down 2,040, just a couple of hundred points above the 20% down from peak level where a bear market would be called. Note that this happened in early 2018.

and heading through $1,700 I reckon DYOR....but HUM moving South when cost element is multi-year low and revenue element is at multi-year high is not logical in my book! DYOR

POG holding up nr recent record highs, price of diesel (AISC) falling sharply, share price down? Irrational markets time. Hey ho, if I had a pipe I'd light it now and wait this nonsense out

Gold is already hedged, on the downside.

Dropping on relatively low volume. Hopefully just a short term correction.I would like to see management hedge oil prices now, and would also like them to hedge gold sales. Perhaps 50% of production for a year or two and all of oil/fuel. The mine has a high strip ratio so fuel is a big component of costs. The oil price crash is a great opportunity.

I think we can safely describe this as a panic and, once again, investors are taking profits in gold. I'm so old I can remember when a declining oil price was good for shares.
