Hi all,

My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a Twin Petes Investing Podcast a few days ago and part of our discussion covers the Banks. We also talked in depth about the current situation in the Markets and how we reckon things could play out. Anyway, if you use Apple or Audioboom you can find them under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want TPI Podcast 20) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below.

Ideal Easter listening whilst you are locked away !!

Cheers, WD

Hi montyhedge,

You are on this occasion behind the news curve. UBS has postponed payment of half its dividend until November and Credit Suisse has also 'postponed' normal dividend payments and reduced its payout.

HSBA cannot pay a dividend until 2021 at the earliest.

Why is HSBC languishing, while other banks are recovering strongly, even Stan chart? Asian private investors selling in disgust at the BoEs interference maybe? (I had never realised what a huge proportion of shareholders they make up).

The biggest problem I've got are the companies that go ex-divi like HSBC. the price goes down automatically. Then you get told your not getting a divi. That's a big kick in the knackers.

They would blame the unrest in Hong Kong and other matters which are out of their hands etc etc. Its never our fault it's always the others, in a matter of words.
