FTSE100 hits a 15 yr high as builder sector rallies - stunning results from GFRD and positive comment on the house building sector.

"Linden Homes' sales rate has increased since 1 January 2015. Housing market conditions remain good and we are optimistic about the prospects for a number of recent and forthcoming sales outlets. Our Partnerships business continues to see exceptional demand for contracting in the affordable housing market and the development business is growing in line with plan."

All time high this morning as we are in the run in to full year results next week.

Worth highlighting part of the recent trading ahead statement below. Increasing revenue and profit margin is a powerful combination, and from reports I am receiving, their business continues to gain momentum in the UK.

"Total sales from Howden Joinery UK depots for 2014 of approximately GBP1070m (2013: GBP940.7m) were up 14%, rising 11% on a same depot basis.

The Group has also seen good performance on other key measures, including gross margin."

Interesting how some broker recs make things rally promptly while others do little. Guess Goodbody are not taken seriously! Either that or people are taking their time to digest the text!

Goodbody today:

"Reiterate BUY recommendation into results on Feb 26th
We expect further comfort on our medium term view from the FY14 results and
outlook. This yields our PT of 500p. Coupled with the potential cash returns and
undemanding market consensus for 2015 we believe the stock should be bought
ahead of results on February 26th."

TMI finished off with:
"Howden is one of those rare beasts that regularly exceeds market expectations and one example is that original broker eps forecasts of 13p for 2013 were ultimately beaten by 28%! We expect this pattern to continue, largely because a high proportion of its costs are fixed, which means that over one third of every incremental £1 of sales falls straight to the bottom line.
Its other attraction is that it generates significant free cash flow and with net cash forecast to increase from £141m in 2013 to £250m by 2016, a special dividend and / or share buyback is more than likely. Buy."

The summer sale below £3 won't be repeated again imo.

Just had an advertising email from the Estates Gazette to say Toolstation are seeking new trade counter units to drive their expansion. Surely a good indicator for the sector.

Bounced well off 410p area. Rejected making a H&S pattern on the hourlies - bulls back in control for now.
