I hold long term and know that this will prove to be very profitable, my portfolio of "insurance sector" stocks are doing great, cbg group, broker network, highway, gable, jelf, are all doing very well thanks and I seem to have hit on a winning formula... you just cant have enough INSURANCE !!!

Nice to be in a quality stock. So many selling up when all you need is a bit of patience.

LOL! Yep, I assume Peel Hunt wanted to get their own clients in at a decent price...

HWY will go ex-div around 23rd March, so not long to wait for a 3.4p final divi. And all tax-free in the old ISAs - lovely jubbly.

"I see Peel Hunt on 25th January forecast 9.33p EPS for 2005, with a 5p divi. Assuming a benign market and reasonable weather the divi yield alone should drive the price up towards 85p imo."

That's what I've thought for several months now - since shortly after Peel Hunt advised selling in the 50p region!

The historical P/E is only about 10 and we all know its been a good start for HWY, so the forward P/E ratio is looking very attractive indeed.

I think 82p/83p is the next real resistance point. Given the Atlantic sales, I'm sure the MMs aren't short, so they'll love a rising share pice too with all the value seekers and chartist chasers.

Nice reversal of an early loss. Despite North Atlantic selling a few more recently the price seems to be breaking ever higher. With a relatively trouble-free winter and stable markets HWY should continue on up to 85p imo.

Good to see a steady price today (to confirm the inverse head and shoulders / double bottom / uptrend), unless the MMs mess around with their spreads at close. Hate to state the obvious but my money is on another rise tomorrow. ;)

Don't think HWY would be any higher come bull or bear. One of those domestic/institutional shares that weather most market conditions.

I'm wondering who have been doing all the buying. I bet some of the sellers have been kicking themselves with HWY rising in the face of a dreary market. Imagine how it would have flown if not for the market being so downbeat.

Its one of Hambros investment trusts managed by Chris Mills. I believe he has a large personal stake in the trust.

my target was originally 80p for the coming weeks, but I've reassessed it and 83p looks more likely to me.

Yep, breaking out slowly and surely upwards. What's your target Factsonly - 85p, or more?

Its happened again bid/ask price firmer than Friday's close despite slightly more selling, maybe a few delayed trades/buys yet to appear? More importantly, if it closes at this level or higher today, then we know we're in for a nice ride up the coming weeks... the chart, the yield, the P/E, the past couple of announcements, to me, they are all pointing up.

I agree it does look exciting, HWY may be one of the few shining stars in a potentially depressed Monday market.
