13/12/2022 18:16 | Maybe newer holders, but not initially, Gordonsecho. As that was all there was that kept the company going to get us to this point. Agree though, most don't care and would rather just see it sold on as an extra bit of cash. | si derman
13/12/2022 18:04 | Nearly 6 months is quite the delay on the IM JR. But enough to go through a cold winter of discontent and sharpen the mind on the need for gas storage. Obviously it's not as simple as just digging a hole in the ground and putting a tap on it. There quite a few other infrastructure issues to sort out before it can benefit the UK as a whole. But maybe they can be sorted as the carverns are being formed. | si derman
13/12/2022 18:01 | Irrational drops. There's a short delay of a few months for the gas project but more certainty it will get the green light now that they've seen the submissions. In the meantime we still have "at least" 60% of the £1.6bln contract from the MOD that is due to be signed any day now. Mcap around £30m. Madness. | simonsmithiv

13/12/2022 09:45 | nice shakeout below 20p...added more. I just think that the strength of the market move to 28p on such huge volume suggests that this is awaiting another move higher. Pay your money and take your choice! | indalo

10/12/2022 13:12 | Unless they make a profit this share is worthless IMO. They are already in a hole for £100 million. | terminator101
10/12/2022 12:35 | So don't buy then if that's your opinion, simple, or are you another of these white knights here to save us from ourselves? Mcap £35m with quote: "at least 60%" of a 1.6bln contract. Enough said. | simonsmithiv
10/12/2022 08:57 | Still, some delusional posters on LSE that think the new contract is going to transform HARL into a profitable company overnight. Claims of a 20% plus profit margin are just sheer lunacy. Their competitors, who are established players, struggle to make money in shipbuilding are are well in single figures for profit (and most of their early adventures in shipbuilding brought them a big loss. How much do you think BAES made from the OPV programme? I’ll give you a clue, it’s a negative number). And you have to factor in that the Resolute consortium won the bid on price, so how does anyone think that their bid was padded out with a 20% plus profit margin when their competitors wouldn’t have been? Then factor in the economics of shipbuilding which is that a third of the costs gets spent in the supply chain. So take a third off the £1.6 BN and you re left with £1.06bn. Being generous HARL might get 60% of that so £640m or a little over £70m revenue a year over the contract duration. Perhaps a 10% profit margin which is £7m a year. Can anyone tell me how much if the £25m a year overheads that £7m a year profit will actually cover? | terminator101
09/12/2022 13:44 | The gas storage project is certainly not being scuppered by the Ukraine. | casholaa
