Nothing goes down in a straight line, although HARL is making a good go of it. If you think a 4.5% rise from a 52 week low is signalling a change in direction then good luck with that. IMO the next placing to keep the lights on is inbound

Because of putins actions and his war language Boris has said uk will increase defence spending along with the EU and these massive spending budgets will benefit likes of HARL in a big way

The ship repair business in Belfast should always be profitable if run prudently, the rest is possible icing on the cake.

Even IF they achieve "cashflow breakeven" this will still be a loss making business. Overheads are too high IMO. Don't have much cash left in the bank and there's no sign of that RCF yet. Can see this down at a £5m mcap and if a bigger predator wanted to pick it up why not just wait for a firesale?

Do you think there is a market cap level or share price level that is a buy (not a punt/trade) as an investment for a company close to breakeven and a pipeline of orders over the next 18 months?Any likelihood that with the demise in value a bigger company will put in a cheeky bid for H&W dockyards etc that the institutional investors would accept?

C2B - TerminatorYes they're probably behind where they'd like to be and behind the rosy picture painted at the last placing. However we were shown round by the main man at Belfast site and he was impressive. Real work being done here and real transformation of a near derelict site. Real possibilities with the Fleet Support Ships, Floating wind turbines for deeper water and renewables. Real possibilities at Islandmagee. The difficulty is knowing where the money is going to come from to finance all this and whether there is a credible financial plan, and yes whether senior management just hope to milk it for as long as it lasts. They entertained the institutions and analysts on Tuesday I would guess that opinion was divided resulting in the mix of buying and selling we daw yesterday.

Whatever the situation an honest update RNS is required. Directors' Remuneration is an issue which writers on this board bring up time and time again. We appreciate the efforts going in to develop this business but until orders come in careful budgeting and some sacrifices are required.
