Horizon scanning, it looks like newsflow pipeline may have several near-term triggers looking at the May interims. RNS on any one could propel the share from this level as Covid risk falls. IMO the EV battery application could prove prescient as the company now has excellent green credentials. Check the new factory stats and new work with batteries and wind turbines. I think Killick has seen this and loaded up before bigger players see the need to have stocks like this in play.

I have baled out of HDD and taken a loss. Disillusion has come about because I cannot see a gearing factor in their process which is where real profit explosions come from. AIUI The kit needed to coat a widget will only cope with n (say) per month. If the customer wants more then HDD must buy and set up a new machine so there is no economy of scale just a linear rise in turnover. Simplistic maybe, but something doesn’t quite stack up. And I needed to take some losses for cgt reasons.

Thank nick, dozey and others for recent news. I think we were pretty sure the HDD facility would be approved, and pretty confident of demand from Airbus and other customers for HDD coatings ... so all we need now are revenues, profits and the share price to respond. Our patience will be rewarded here, 35p is no reflection of the value we saw before covid, the discounted February fund raise at 30.9p to blame. Well exposed to the opportunity ahead.

We regularly coat parts for BAE Systems’ Eurofighter Typhoon, Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Lightning II and Airbus’ A300 Beluga Super Transporter and A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft. First orders are expected shortly for a range of Airbus A330 and A320 wing components and we are in the final stages of agreeing a long-term supply arrangement with a major German Tier 1 supplier and arrangements with key UK and European Tier 1 suppliers for coating further A320, A330 and A400M components. First production of these is expected later this year.

At the same time, we have lots of exciting development work underway for a variety of new parts including engine metering valves, reverse thrust actuators, hydraulic cylinder actuators, landing gear actuators, door stops and landing gear pintle pins....”

Thinking of adding to my modest holding with some of the WEY takeover proceeds.
