Interesting that Klepierre bid only for HMSO and not also for INTU. But at these discounts it does put them all in play.

I am the same with a large profit from 437 but logic suggest a higher bid and intu now down 9.5 pointing the same way.

maybe - or just view that the board haven't justified fighting the bid off.

I am uncertain what to do. I usually hold in these situations but this time I'm not so certain it's the right thing to do.

At last — something to lift the Hammerson share price, and all relayed via a scoop from The Times. So you'd think David Tyler, chairman of the shopping centers group, might be a bit more grateful. No chance. How come? A 615p-a-share bid approach from France's Klépierre was enough to send Hammerson shares up 24 ...

the only reason Hammerson share price is going up, as the above shows £6.15 bid so if the bid is rejected we could see a sharp drop.

hope this helps

yeah its a tricky one.from the press .ports I have read it seems the institutions are not overly in favour of theintu bid and a higher offer for hammersons may temp them to accept.its your decision that counts.

I honestly do not know what to do. I have some Hammerson for which I paid £5 and I'm happy to hold. If the price rises to 570 I might have to think a bit harder.

But I also have INTU at an average of 215, but four times as many of them. It's these I mostly don't know what to do with and can find no articles on the internet to help me.

I perceive 215 to be a crazy low price but accept that it is supported by the HMSO bid which may fall apart. On the other hand I think the city have lost the plot over this merger, fail to recognise the synergies (lower cost of capital to INTU, superior HMSO management team).

I could just sell them and move on to the next trade but I don't actually see anything I want to replace INTU with and I don't think now is a good time to be in cash.

I think this highlights the disconnect between the city boy valuations and real valuation. Whilst Klepierre is no doubt taking advantage of a low share price, I believe it will provide a re-rating to the whole sector.

One would assume as is usual with these things the first offer is not the best offer although I think if they offered 615 and took INTU as well it would go through.

Much to think about. I have both HMSO and INTU although about 4 times as much INTU.

INTU at Price to Book (about) 0.54 now versus HMSO Price to Book (about) 0.74, HMSO and both in play, not sure why INTU share price being ignored in this

Typo - you've been very prescient here. How do you think this Klepierre offer might pan out; all rather complicated with the Intu offer still in play!

according to R. Ball: "Not really. Price only back to January levels."

Nothing like someone raining on a parade on a Monday morning and creating bad karma but I tend to agree with 777.

So the HMSO board rejected a 615p offer. Won't they have a bit of explaining to do?
