25/3/2020 11:03 | as i said the other day they can keep all stores open if they want - cycling and car parts shops are exempt from the lock down - "essential services" so expect stores to start opening again over the next few days | spob

25/3/2020 07:56 | "Many key workers rely on us to keep their motor fleet running, including the Ministry of Defence, the British Transport Police and several large UK utility companies." | wigwammer
25/3/2020 07:53 | Essential service provider... "?We have been designated by the Government as a provider of essential services and so we have the legal flexibility to remain open across the entire business.?" | wigwammer
25/3/2020 07:44 | Right then. Please read new RNS.HFD have told us they are still alive and knows kicking! They have borrowed up to the max and can still borrow more.Obviously the Divi is suspended. Also a great u turn around ref closing stores to protect workers from co-vid19 to now putting them all back on the front line as all the business will remain open.....?Yes business was actually picking up over the last 2 weeks (That nothing to do with closing shops for 2 weeks for safety reasons and protecting staff then deciding to keep open...honest Guv?)Yes sales and profits will be down in line with all other retailer and it will take 9 months to recover fully. But they can borrow, borrow and borrow more money than the Federal Reserve has do they will survive.Borrowed cash in hand and a big over-draught in place! So stores will now trade at reduced capacity and due to Corona Virus and putting his troops firmly in the firing line...I bet he is in self isolation this morning.???Leaders are judged not by who they are but what they do to their people and to their people. | kendonagasaki
25/3/2020 07:29 | This is a good company innit... "Halfords is a resilient business with a healthy balance sheet, substantial liquidity and strong cash flow. The Group has a core role to play in providing essential motoring and cycling services to the nation, at this critical time but also more generally." | wigwammer
25/3/2020 07:27 | Interesting .. "We have been designated by the Government as a provider of essential services and so we have the legal flexibility to remain open across the entire business." | wigwammer
24/3/2020 20:32 | Your to dim to change the https....you're probably a foreigner if not a dim chump.... | muchodinero
24/3/2020 19:36 | Of course, but they will follow a similar profile to Italy so what happens in Italy will give us a clue as to what Trump will actually be able to do. Italy have 743 deaths today. | stupmy
24/3/2020 19:17 | Your links not working?A bit like your brain? | kendonagasaki
24/3/2020 17:58 | I think the one to watch is going to be the USA not necessarily Italy. | argylerich
24/3/2020 16:22 | You two chumps....I think that I've found the help you both require.... hxxps://www.samarita | muchodinero
24/3/2020 16:06 | Probably the most important data now is infection and death rates today in Italy. The data isn't available yet (at least to me), but if it indicated that the worst was over it would give us further information on how long it's going to last in the UK (and US) | stupmy
24/3/2020 15:43 | India has gonebinto full lock down!Who is going to man HFDs systems and support centre now?? | kendonagasaki
24/3/2020 15:13 | Time to short here i think! All halfords stores are closed.Should fall 15% tomorrow, hope this helps! | kendonagasaki
24/3/2020 15:04 | You still don't respond to why you spend all day with your buddy stumpy de-ramping shares on BB's...you can probably get psychiatric help for your trolling condition, the pair of you. | muchodinero
24/3/2020 14:07 | Even you ask, you'll get nothing other than government policy which will state 14 or 15 days. I would count on it being 2-3 months persoanlly. But China is back to work and their new cases are low and deaths also. | stupmy
24/3/2020 14:03 | You cant blame me that all of Halfords stores Nationwide are closed today!!Who knows when they will open again? Why dont you email the CEO to find out young man! | kendonagasaki

24/3/2020 13:21 | Will look at it. | kendonagasaki
24/3/2020 12:46 | Maybe service will be able to tick over, but what I saw here is that our local Speedy (equivalent to Halfords as an Honest service offering, trusted by the public) was a lot less busy in the run up to the lockdown. Although I'm rarely out of the house at the moment, I can't imagine that business has picked up. I'm happy to have dropped out (at a good loss as I was too slow to react) at whatever price I closed at (I can't remember, but know the current share price means that I was right to react late rather than not at all. Kendo have you looked at WMH? Director buying and competitors accumulating a largish stake (over 4% at the moment). | stupmy
24/3/2020 11:50 | Stumpy look Halfords.Stores all shut today!Garages open and tyre business. Some stores in key areas may reopen in 48hours.So only anout 50% of halfords will be closed.Onviously hoing to hammer into the year end results! | kendonagasaki
24/3/2020 10:32 | In France lockdown is being further enforced due to people not following the official line. It is now against the law to do sport (running/cycling) for more than 1 hour a day and it must be done within 1 km of your domicile. On the form you have to carry with you now, you must add the time you started. Your address is already on it. In the UK Boris has dithered, with an original attempt to 'Go his own way' (Fleetwood Mac) to prove he is the Churchill of the moment. He's underestimated this from the start and been pressured into complying with European style restrictions rather than 'fighting them on the beaches'. I see no reason to believe that the UK will have a signficantly different approach to that taken in other European countries. On the other hand Trump is in a very special place on the range of personalities that make up human nature. He might just be able to resist the pressure and reopen the US as he says he intends to do after 15 days. That will be a very interesting experiment. Assuming that a reasonably high percentage of US citizens have co-morbidities (e.g. obesity/diabetes and others), I see no reason to believe that they will fair better than the Italians. In which case, I'd be amazed if even Trump can resist the pressure that he will find himself under to impose a 2-3 mth lockdown. I think you'll see a lot of policy mayhem over there if he does remove their lockdown. HFDs has to be hit hard if Boris's lockdown follows the European model. I think it will, the pressure is going to be intense. | stupmy |
