Whole sector is weak - FLTR down 3.6%, Betsson down 3.9%, Kindred down 3.8%. Profit taking and low volumes.

This share certainly has its ups and downs, 1175 to 975 in short order, these drops seem to be commonplace with GVC.

Nigh on 4% since I sold, I may well be buying them back by the end of the week.

To quote Elon Musk (again):

If you don't like volatility don't buy GVC shares....

making an appearance again at this rate.

Not sure we have seen bookies closed but with major sporting action continuing.. Id be guessing this will just further speed up the migration to online.. Given double the margins.. Only need half the customers..

I agree sport has adapted well so far, although there are things like the impending bankruptcy of most of the clubs in the EFL to worry about - I'm sure that will be solved by a bailout but its still a worry. Other sports with their main income from gate receipts must also be in big trouble...

I also agree that GVC has been very well run and has adapted brilliantly to the new normal. In the medium term, the future is bright.

Short term, however, the must surely be some financial impact from betting shops closing. It may well be minor but not zero.

Markets act in a VERY short term manner and so don't like that uncertainty. Hence the share price drop - was my main point.

Sport has adapted well and continues to operate behind closed doors successfully.

GVC is actually a safe haven in the current climate, our FY guidance has only recently been upgraded and we are seeing strong growth in all key territories dyor.

I'm sure we all know why the share price has dropped recently- just in case.UK looks like it will be locked down shortly if not nationwide at least large parts of the country.Betting shops will close, revenue etc down. Some sports events may have to stop? Maybe.Uncertainty - markets hate that.To put this in perspective, last time this happened the share price dropped to the 300s.That won't happen this time as the market now knows GVC is well run and will easily survive.

That's my stop-loss, I'll sell 50% and see what's promising else where.

The Spurs v West Ham game resulted in the first time IN PL history that a side has come back from 3-0 down to draw! That would have been a nice in-play bet to have had!
