I think most of us here agree on one thing though - the potential here is substantial. Personally I want GVC to remain and develop its world wide presence, not to become fixated on any one market - look how that went when the UK was nearly 50% of the company. Diversify - Look at AUS - over 60% up. Purchase of Portugal. The promise of South America, let alone what may happen in Asia in the next 10 years. Lots to play for. Keep control of your assets. CM.

I think you are being a bit optimistic. Put 50% of the shares up for NASDAQ, CURRENTLY worth $1bn. In 5 years time the 25% that GVC have left worth $3bn, instead of $6bn at 50%. ROAR are already going full tilt at it, so by listing in the US you are selling off the future value of the company on the cheap. Why would the US investors invest on NAS if they werent getting anything out of it? The time to list is when the value of the enterprise is maturing, not when its a fraction of its potential.

c ok another listing on the nasdaq, we just need pure US exposure for the pe revalue.

cm No not to sell up, but to list and we have the same stake as here, card clear did it with retail decisions many moons ago, I was a cc shareholder and got a one for one share allocation for retail decisions. They rocketed and the value of rt soared past cc, if you get my point. I want gvc to retain a big position but we need to be valued much higher than this silly 1100p. aimho. dyor active

Also not likely to spin something off when it uses the same technology platform as the rest of the business.

IMO is it not more a spin off to give a value to an asset and raise funds to take the US market "full tilt" ... GVC and MGM put 10% ROAR's shares onto Nasdaq...goes for $1bn..asset worth $10bn...MGM /ROAR still own 90%...and have a nice cash inflow..

Not sure that's really right srp.IBM spin off is getting rid of an unwanted division to focus on a a core business. That means you are saying GVC want rid of the unwanted US division. You want GVC to sell off the USA and lose out on future growth in value despite the fact that it will take at least 5 years to mature.Surely that's the time to spin off, not now.DYOR of course.CM

This is what happens when you spin something off. dyor --------------------------------------------------------------- IBM shares soared after the company announced plans to spin off its IT infrastructure unit to focus on its cloud computing business.

Nice little mention in this morning's Citywire:- "Shore Capital is backing GVC (GVC) on the ‘magnitude of the opportunity in the US’ as the bookmaker reported a strong third quarter update. Analyst Greg Johnson reiterated his ‘buy’ recommendation on the shares after the company guided for better full-year earnings as a boost in online gambling offset the closure of its shops during lockdown. Johnson, however, was focusing on the opportunity in the US, where it has a joint venture with BetMGM. On current valuations, the stake in BetMGM is worth ‘just $750m’ which is a ‘marked discount to recent valuations in the sector’. ‘Given the momentum across the group and the magnitude of the opportunity in the US, we reiterate our “buy” stance,’ he said.
