I don’t think it has gone through yet. Yesterday was the House of Commons committee nodding it through, today it is in the Lords, being proposed by Lord Ashton of Hyde. I think that’s it then that it comes in to law, but I’m no parliamentary legal expert.

I don't think it was the vote itself? At least not according to what I read on BBC yesterday- it was a reading or something

Not worthy of RNS but positive news nonetheless:

And we won't leave the EU without a deal. Theresa May is posturing to try and draw further concessions from Junker and Tusk. Most likely outcome is a second ref I think or a big extension of A50 and a new PM

Yeah all true - Trump is turning into the maniac we all feared and things will get ugly. As someone yesterday pointed out, gamblers are defensive stocks though and tend to hold up in bear markets. With everything else giving such a pathetic return (my only other big non- share investment is FundingCircle) high yielding underpriced stocks in segments that are considered defensive seems like a good spot to park some funds :)

Agreed, though in these markets do not bank on anything. Brexit, Trump, potential world recession, all are having a negative impact on investor confidence. As long as GVC keep paying and increasing the div, I’m a happy bunny.

I work hard and invest wisely :)As for averaging down I don't think anyone should be recommending anything to anyone. All I think is that it's good value with some small risks that are priced in too heavily. (Not a recommendation)

Would you recommend averaging down into 700's and hoping for a recovery next year?

The gravy train that was ASOS has well and truly come of the rails today with their profit warning. Shares now down nearly 40% from £40 to £26.

I never understood the stratospheric p/e that the markets accorded to this company. Now we know how wrong the market was.

Mmm CFO spends £0.75M at £7.31. Let me think about whether this is good buy or not. Crazy price, wish I had some spare funds to acquire more

Lucky your posting suggesting we might see another 5% didn't say which way, up or down!!

Just announced that our CFO has bought 100k of shares at 732p from last Friday. Now that shows confidence.

You may well be right, though the tax rise was always a certainty but the implementation of the FOBT limit before the end of March 2019 was not.
