12/11/2017 18:31 | Hi Fest - well done on your 461 free shares. I guess you sold some 10,000 4% below the peak at 962p but wondered why you did not sell more ( I believe WH sold his entire holding)? Just hoping to glean a little insight from the maestro and rein in my tendency to buy too early. | fizzypop

11/11/2017 08:57 | Great thread and useful comments. I just continue to hold. I thought the Turkish sale was a good move. I'm not sure about a Ladbroke acquisition - but hey what do I know. Everything has its price. The constant in this is that over the years the GVC Board and KA in particular have skilfully steered and grown this company. Why would they not continue to do that? So I trust our management, and I trust them to make the right decisions. So I just continue to hold. | melody9999
11/11/2017 08:43 | In the same article - However, analysts believe that a Supreme Court hearing next month on an attempt by New Jersey to allow sport betting could pave the way to a rapid expansion of the market across other states. | loganair
11/11/2017 08:00 | In Today's Telegraph, "WILLIAM HILL looks set for a US court showdown over its attempts to block a rival’s takeover of an American business that the bookmaker has a stake in." "Scientific Games Corporation announced in September that it planned to acquire NYX Gaming Group, in a deal worth $631m (£480m) including debt. If Scientific Games, chaired by American billionaire Ron Perelman, were to acquire NYX, the combination could be a formidable competitor in the battle for market share in the US sports betting market. At the moment, such gambling is limited to a handful of US states such as Nevada, where William Hill has a 55pc market share. " | coxsmn

09/11/2017 13:10 | The retrace on profit taking is understandable although unless we are all heading for the exits (which the low volume suggests we are not!) it seems to me a bit overdone at this point. Surely the reason is concern at a Lads deal, albeit Kenny Alexander has stated that it could be anybody, due to the latest increase there and the GVC drop. Of most concern to me is the relative capitalisations and it ending up as a merger of equals. At least one of mine is moving well today in GAN, which I suspect a few here must have had a bite of too. | noujay |
