09/6/2024 20:14 | "But did they turn up with all the "paperwork and other agreements" that Baghdad want to see?" An interesting question Sarah.. APIKUR - "They must withdraw the cases or give us legal guarantees and then we can share." So the answer is one of these:- a) - The MoO withdrew their request so as not to jeopardise the meeting they urgently requested. b) - They withdrew their cases against the legality of the contracts. c) - They gave legal guarantees. | ![]() habshan

09/6/2024 19:58 | Maybe posted Gla Baghdad, Erbil discuss resuming oil exports from northern Iraq Amr Salem June 9, 2024 549 3 min Baghdad, Erbil discuss resuming oil exports from northern Iraq Ceyhan petroleum operations field. Photo: BOTAS Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi officials in the oil sector met on Sunday with officials from Iraqi Kurdistan and representatives of oil companies to discuss the resumption of oil exports through a pipeline to the Turkish port of Ceyhan. Since March 2023, crude oil flows along the Iraq-Turkey oil pipeline, which formerly transported around 0.5 percent of the world’s oil supply, have been suspended due to legal and financial uncertainty. Sunday’s meeting in Baghdad, which was attended by Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani and officials from the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), followed an invitation sent by the Iraqi Oil Ministry last month to the Kurdish authorities and international oil firms to meet and discuss the resumption of oil exports from northern Iraq, according to Sky News Arabia. A senior official in the Ministry of Oil said that it is still too early to say that a final agreement has been reached. “But we can say that the meeting has many positive aspects,” the official indicated. One of the main sources of conflict between the federal government in Baghdad and the KRG is the distribution of oil revenues. After the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris decided in March 2023 that Ankara had broken a 1973 treaty by enabling oil exports without the federal government’s approval, flows via the Iraq-Turkey oil pipeline were stopped. In early June, the Association of the Petroleum Industry of Kurdistan (APIKUR) refuted recent media reports that incorrectly attribute the ongoing dispute over the resumption of oil exports via the Iraq-Turkey pipeline to the inflexibility of foreign oil firms. Media reports said that ongoing negotiations have come to a stop because international oil companies operating in Iraqi Kurdistan have adopted an inflexible stance. However, since January 2024, there haven’t been any coordinated talks between foreign oil firms, officials from the Iraqi government, and the KRG. Several foreign oil companies operating in Iraqi Kurdistan have stopped production, and shipments have not yet resumed despite multiple discussions between officials in Iraqi Kurdistan, the federal government in Baghdad, and Turkish authorities. | ![]() beernut1
09/6/2024 19:50 | Well no APIKUR co’s had to leave the discussion, so all arrived with contracts. ( as news so far). That’s a big bonus after having to share contract information. First time of a tripartite talk. Bonus I guess we all expected it would be more than 1 meeting. No losses there. We’ve never been this close. Big bonus. We’re still selling oil and bank account going up. ? You never know first time of meetings coinciding with our Agm. We’ll never know the full story till the book is wrote. The real prize. 09/6/2024 17:12 | From LSE An adviser to the Iraqi prime minister told Rudaw that good relations between Erbil and Baghdad will help resolve the problems of oil companies. “Political decisions decide every issue. Sabhan Mullah Jihad, an advisor to the Iraqi prime minister, was a guest on Rudaw's afternoon bulletin. He also assessed the issues of relations between Erbil and Baghdad, contracts of oil companies, oil exports and the implementation of salaries of Kurdistan Regional Government employees. Sabhan Mullah Jihad told Rudaw that good relations, understanding and coordination between the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) will pave the way for the problems of the oil companies in the Kurdistan Region to be resolved. "Political solutions and political decisions will resolve the issue and solve the problems," he said. Whatever the level of conflict, there will be an outlet for resolution. The important thing is to keep the conversation going. The accumulated problems have been caused by a lack of dialogue, negotiations and sometimes boycotts. The problems have been temporarily overcome. Both sides have made mistakes and neglected on some issues over the past 20 years. Regarding the resumption of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region, the Sudanese advisor said that Iraq and the central government are the first losers in the suspension of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region. Article 111 of the constitution says that natural resources belong to all Iraqis and all technical problems must be resolved in order for oil exports to resume. The issue of the names of the Peshmerga and Kurdistan security forces was another part of the discussion with Rudaw. "No one in the central government knows who belongs to the security forces. A special committee within the Ministry of Finance is responsible for the list of names of the security forces," he said. “The list of names of the Peshmerga and internal forces of the Kurdistan Region can also be supervised by the committee or a coordinating committee The first letter of the three names was offered, but it was rejected. “According to my information, the Kurdistan Regional Government has chosen TBI Bank to pay the salaries of its employees. The central government does not object. Procedures are taken in this direction. To my knowledge, there are no problems. The recent visits of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Nechirvan Barzani and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani to Baghdad have solved most of the problems. It is very important that the talks and visits continue because the prime minister has a strong desire to resolve the issues | ![]() confused _gerbill
