Back $ payments are integral to discussions as there’s $ hundreds millions outstanding. Another “lever” for the IOC’s to use.

Question is are they naked short / unhedged. That would have been pretty mad and unlike their highly intelligent financial engineered strategy.Imo they are wiorking for themselves/client.That client may well be the ones that lent them the stock..If they really are naked short I'd expect them to try and move today rather than risk the likely chaos on Monday

The fact that they have agreed to a tripartite meeting suggests to me that the proposals are acceptable to all parties

Any views on payment of $14 instead of $8 as per Confused Gerbils post.
Will it be enough for APIKUR to accept?
Are the Krg going to stump up the rest to make it $21 a barrel, at least were moving in the right direction. ?

Interrupted contracts, possible solution?6 Jun 2024 16:30
The PSCs are designed to reward successful exploration through payments over the full course of the contract - reflects fact that IOCs take on the risk of failure.

Interrupting them before completion and amending them has to take that on board.

Given that the IOCs are looking for an average $21 a barrel cost of production before transportation but the latest Budget includes only $14 to $15, is there a time related solution to this mismatch?

Could commercial equivalence be achieved by extending the lengths of the amended contracts compared to what’s left on the current PSCs?

As Opec have eased their production restrictions, Iraq will be keen to get the Kurdistan oil flowing again.

They are fully aware that their time is running out and the IOC"s can manage very nicely on local sales.

So this time next week everything will be agreed and oil will be flowing down the pipe !!
If not which I'm sire it won't be then we can all agree any articles coming out of Iraq is just bo[]ocks.
Then we can all sit back and wait 15 months as that will be the only time the oil flows again .
