"And even you should be able to work out that $1.875 billion for 12 million barrels is $156 a barrel"

Indeed its a bit odd that our self proclaimed "professional" engineer cant even do simple arithmetic. Maybe he should ask his good friend Sarah for lessons ?

On 2nd thoughts ...........

Probably unlikely to be a one and done meeting. A couple more may follow before finalisation.

Rootbeen 30 mins ago. I like the translation:)

The head of the council of ministers said "The delegation of the Kurdistan regional government and the oil companies on the invitation of the Iraqi ministry of oil to get to Baghdad.

In his announcement tonight, Umed Sabah said:
The goal is to visit the delegation of the regional government and the petroleum companies to Baghdad together and to meet with the Iraqi ministry of oil to further further further discussions between the regional government, the Iraq government and to set up a mechanism of solution to start the process of exporting the regional oil.

Broadford - "I see Habby twisting the numbers again. Using his workings and sticking with the 400Mbopd, that equates to max $12/bbl"

What an idiot, you're just being silly again Broadford, this is what the dog said:-

Bigdog - "However they've made Erbil give them 400k a day"

to give - "freely transfer the possession of (something) to (someone)".

The Kurds aren't "giving" or freely transferring ANYTHING Broadford and only a complete idiot like Bigdog would suggest they would.

We have been told umpteen times that the Kurds will transfer 400kbpd to SOMO in exchange for their share of the budget which we are told is $1.875 billion a month for 12 million barrels.

And even you should be able to work out that $1.875 billion for 12 million barrels is $156 a barrel.

$156 a barrel is not "giving" the oil away is it.

Off to sleep.
Good luck all for tomorrow. We can stand it we’ve been here nearly a million times before.
But chuckling to myself thinking I’d love to see all the Apicur teams turning up for the meeting on camels.

Slightest bit of news and they’re out.

Can’t wait for all the big dogs. Sarah’s. Broadfords. Etc to disappear from the bb when it’s all close to T/O and we can all plan the T/O party. Funny thing is they’ll probably all be there.

Hi Bigdog,
I see Habby twisting the numbers again.
Acc to what I read, approx 12Trillion IRD are for the public sector employee payroll, leaving 8Trillion IRD (USD 6M) for investment and other expenditure.
From what I hear from my sources, less than $2Bn ($1.8Bn) is currently anticipated as being for supporting ALL O&G investments (including KRG projects being progressed indepedently of the foreign contractors) - the remainder for KRG government projects not associated with the oil company PSCs (electricity- and water supply infrastructure, housing, tourism projects, roads & bridges, etc).

Using his workings and sticking with the 400Mbopd, that equates to max $12/bbl - very close to the figure that has been floating around now for many weeks.

That max $12/bbl is of course the total amount of compensation (CO + PO) under consideration for payment to the foreign contractors.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) confirmed that a delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) will go to Baghdad tomorrow Oil production has agreed on the framework needed to amend the contracts. The obstacles will disappear. We as the government have expressed our readiness to assist in this process."https://www.rudaw.net/sorani/kurdistan/080620244

Shipmates, a balmy 37 Deg in Ceyhan today, light winds and calm seas. Positively chilled compared to the 47 Deg forecast for Baghdad tomorrow.... Let's hope the A/c is working, I personally hate a melted Tunnock.

Plenty of 150,000 Dwt vessels in Med basin as always looking for charters.

We'll get some comments from the fool from the Isle of Skye soon - he's not very bright and kinda shy. Always good for a laugh.
Yours on watch.

"However they've made Erbil give them 400k a day. Remember, the hard liners down South are able to influence so much that you all ignore. "

Now then Sarah, so they've made Erbil "give" them 400kbpd have they.

Last Monday - "The parliament’s media office announced that the members of the legislature passed the tables on Monday that sees an increase in the country’s spending to 211 trillion dinars (about $161 billion). The spokesperson for the Iraqi planning ministry told Rudaw that the Kurdistan Region’s share from the 2024 budget is 14 percent."

So in exchange for 400kbpd the Federal Government will pay the Kurds 14% of $161 billion which is $22.5 billion or $1.875 billion a month.

400kbpd is 12 million barrels a month.

$1.875 billion divided by 12 million works out at $156 a barrel.

So in exchange for "giving" the ICG 400kbpd they are being paid $156 a barrel.

But you say the Kurds are to "give" the ICG that oil because the hard liners in the Federal Government have "made" them do it.

Why would the "hard liners down South who are able to influence so much that we all ignore them" "make" the Kurds send them 400kbpd so that they can pay them $156 a barrel for it.

Maybe it's because like you those "hardliners down south" aren't very bright Sarah.

Good afternoon delusional fantasists.

I note that you have all been getting excited yet again but as per usual a "surprise" rocks up which has been eloquently explained by BB. Did you all not realise that there were "other" things that would have a bearing on the terms? I seem to recall that they've been mentioned a few times before but as usual you ignore what is said by posters that know far more than they are given credit for.

Its also obvious that you are again believing that the translations of announcements are spot on when in fact they're not, sarah should take most of the blame on that issue!!

Also aren't the KRG to hand over 400k a day rather than what beernut is getting wrong?

Remember, the hard liners down South are able to influence so much that you all ignore. I see that scottysnowflake and sarah continue to pump out their belief that Baghdad have made huge mistakes and have "painted themselves into a corner" and that Erbil haven't conceded!!

However they've made Erbil give them 400k a day, they are forcing through an audit on how many people work in the Kurdistan State Sector and they want names and bank accounts in order to pay them. Now, in what looks to be another move to obtain transparency they want to see what other "terms" are. Then there are the economics to take account of and sort out. Baghdad have gained zero from the debts owed by Erbil and therefore are under no obligation to settle them. Erbil who already have massive debts problem?

Just pointing out the reality as usual:-)

Exactly IOCs are in a lovely position now !! If ICG don't agree to their terms then it's we will wait 15 months until we can..
Personally they should wait 15 months ..Don't you just love it that iraq thought Kurdistan would collapse and it ended up doing the opposite.
So iraq will need to pay for their bad decisions making
