Re the big pipes running past Mosul I remember that they were written off so I am not trusting these reports that they are nearly ready to roll. Just more haggling pressure on the Kurds. I might try and find the report about it from 6 years ago or do.

Videos of the conversations the Russians have had with others who have been lifted show that they were offerred 250k Roubles to do the job.Hardly doing it for the religious cause.Get yourself an account on Telegram ShortSqueezer and become enlightened.Oh and am still intending to organise the takeover party.

Habby wrote. "It's a major issue for him." (Biden)

I really don't think so - and even if it were so, America's interests no longer drive Iraq politics. As bigdog says, having your cake and eating it doesn't go down well in Baghdad and, despite what you may told otherwise, there is a growing view in the US that the corrupt Kurds need their wings clipped.

KRG being squeezed hard now from the North, and the South; the pidgeons are coming home to roost, you reap what you sow.

All coming together is it? Epicure dictating terms to Baghdad are they?

Koruptistan is a region, an area of Iraq. They tried for independence and failed.

They expect 12.6% of the Iraq budget but also want to have their own Oil Industry to run how they like as well as taking the revenue. Common place on the rest of the planet? Cake and eat it?

Just a shareholders mull?

I doubt it was an Isis attack, that's like believing Russia blew up it's own pipelines.
The culprit is probably deep state and it's desire to start a huge war.

I will believe it when the company issues a RNS stating they have resumed pumping through the pipeline and a payment plan is in place for the oil debt.

"Will APIKUR have any credibility if the visit proceeds without the pipeline opening?"

Maybe the Americans have assessed the progress of the negotiations, have been brought up to speed by Sudani, are happy with that progress, and think that the pipeline will be opened before his visit or soon thereafter.

The Americans also understand the implications of Erdogan's visit to Baghdad and it's timing.

But APIKUR's credibility won't be damaged, nobody will think that American policy towards Iraq Iran and the Middle East in general will be decided by APIKUR.

The US need to engage with Sudani who has moved away from Iran and the Coordination Framework.

The Coordination Framwork are afraid of the popularity that Sudani and his policies have with the Iraqi people, and recent polls show that the US has more than double the approval rating of Iran with the Iraqi public, so this visit can only increase his standing further.

The letters sent last year by Masrour Barzani to Joe Biden himself and APIKUR's letters to Congress have been enough to get the pipeline issue elevated to close to the top of the agenda for Sudani's visit.

We're only 8 months away from the US Presidential elections and Biden needs the pipeline open to help keep gasoline prices as low as possible as it's a major issue in US elections.

Last week he was even asking Ukraine to stop targeting Russian energy infrastructure because of the upward pressure it was putting on oil prices.

Make no mistake, Biden and his people will be pushing Sudani hard on getting the pipeline reopened.

It's a major issue for him.
