29/10/2023 21:16 | Bigdog - "The reality was the company were in a dire state prior to the run up to the first wipeout in July 2016." Then why did you say this, you could hardly have been more wrong could you:- Bigdog shortly before the restructuring - "We wont run out of cash. Plus, POO rising, grip on the war, CPR/FDP's going to be addressed. The problems of the past are being addressed." You were the biggest ramper we've ever seen on this board weren't you Sarah:- "Shaikan is massive, possibly 18b-26b barrels OIP. The 18b figure was recently mentioned by one of the BoD's. TK has suggested we could have 26b." "Value we're not sure but think north of $5 a barrel. Recovery around 30%. Company maker" "I hold to the theory that Shaikan is perhaps the largest find in a generation?" "Shaikan is colossal." | ![]() habshan | |

29/10/2023 14:40 | The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, disclosed Tuesday that international oil firms operating in the Kurdistan region of Iraq are anticipating a recommencement of oil production activities within the next month. This would follow once both parties align on the costs associated with oil production. It’s pertinent to note that the movement of oil exports from the north of Iraq, via the Iraq-Turkey oil pipeline, had been put on halt since March of this year. This interruption in oil exports was a consequence of a verdict by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris. The arbitration decision mandated that Turkey pay a sum of $1.5 billion to Baghdad. This compensation was to account for damages borne from the unauthorized export of oil by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) between 2014 and 2018, which was conducted without the requisite approvals from the central government in Baghdad. Corroborating the readiness for renewed operations, Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, earlier in October, asserted that the aforementioned pipeline is in operational condition. Additionally, Ankara is gearing up to recommence oil export proceedings via the Ceyhan port, strategically situated on the Mediterranean coast. Senior personnel within the Iraqi oil sector have unveiled that discussions are underway to renew oil export operations from northern Iraq. The negotiations involve the utilization of the crucial pipeline that connects Iraq and Turkey. Prime Minister Al-Sudani also touched upon the concerns of foreign entities operating in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. According to him, these companies opine that the production costs proposed by the Iraqi government don’t resonate with the actual costs encountered in the oil fields in northern Iraq. This mismatch could potentially hinder the pace and volume of production. Highlighting the gravity of the suspended operations, the Association of the Petroleum Industry of Kurdistan (APIKUR) has shed light on the significant economic repercussions. As per a statement released in mid-October by the association, the oil sector has faced a staggering loss of $7 billion due to the standstill of the oil pipeline that connects Iraq and Turkey. This multi-faceted issue, with its deep-rooted economic and political nuances, underscores the intricate relationship between Iraq and Turkey, the oil sector’s significance in the region, and the paramount role of international entities in shaping the energy dynamics. As both nations work towards finding a middle ground, the resumption of oil production is keenly awaited, marking a significant step towards economic recovery and stability in the region.
