10/7/2021 15:11 | Nobull 😃 Please ignore my playtime with David & Paul posts. I don't like giving advice to people but this time I will. Please read my other posts very very carefully ! Join the dots. | kurdman63
10/7/2021 14:39 | Kurdman, hi. Yes, I've got better things to do with my time than argue with Paul Carrol and his 150 avatars. I think my only motive for posting here is that I don't want to be classed as a nutter for investing in GKP when some of its shareholders have so many misconceptions - yes, Charlie Munger says the standard condition is stupidity and ignorance, and the "$8 a barrel in the ground imminent takeover, Paul Carrol" view is not justifiable if 84% oil sales revenue goes to the KRG once the cost recovery pool is depleted, a view only that the most deluded of investors can have, I wonder? I like to invest in companies where the shareholders are sane and are interested in holding the directors to account. Paul Carrol has no cyber manners, which adds to the work of being an investor in GKP, particularly if one is trying to find the occasional nugget of valuable info on this thread. It's less work to be invested in Genel, but I couldn't switch right now even if I wanted to. I am looking at other oil producers too, all for a quieter life. I have started to read the other GKP thread. I see SH-13 is not bang in the middle of any concentration of oil - it looks to be on the edge, so I'll assume this is really an exploration well rather than a development or production well. The RNSs don't shed much light on this. Anyone got any views on this? GuyPender, thanks. | nobull
10/7/2021 14:21 | Oil climbs as US dollar falls amid OPEC+ supply stalemate. By Jill R. ShahBloomberg 9 Jul 2021 Oil prices rose as a weaker dollar and strong U.S. fuel demand during the country’s peak summer driving season boosted the commodity after a week of volatile trading. Futures advanced as much as 2.4% on Friday, gaining in tandem with other commodities. The dollar weakened, boosting the appeal of commodities priced in the currency. Prices rose after a U.S. government report this week showed the seventh straight decline in crude inventories and record gasoline demand in the week leading into the July 4th holiday weekend. | beernut

10/7/2021 13:51 | Highlander, I can't see why a new purchaser would have more bargaining power to change the contract to be more in the purchaser's favour than it would be with the KRG. If the KRG have a good deal with us, they will want to keep it that way with the new purchaser - lengthening the PSC gives the new party more value, value that is at the expense of the KRG. Maybe we just have to agree to differ on this. Let's hope SH-13 comes good. It may not of course. We'll see. | nobull

10/7/2021 12:48 | Nobull The terms of any contract depend on who was the best negotiator and /or who held the best cards. All Contract T&C's vary. As I stated , a PSC is a Contract and subject to Contract Law. It can be amended at any time with the full agreement of ALL the parties who signed same , unless there is a Contract Clause stating otherwise . It is binding on ALL parties for as long as it is force. Contract Law imposes severe penalties on a transgressor. However a new owner (say) would be well within his/her rights to renegotiate a revised PSC , and this is normally the case. Which makes sense when you think about it, because the original PSC conditions have now changed with the new owner. The extent of the revisions is of course subject to negotiation - horse trading. 10/7/2021 12:28 | Highlander, "I wouldnt fret too much about the PSC. Its just another Contract that can be renegotiated by any new owner , and almost certainly will be. Because this current one is too biased in the Kurds favour. If Kurdistan wants investment nowadays then there will have to be a good incentive to do so." What is the point of a contract if it isn't binding on both parties? What bargaining power does GKP have in this matter? The terms of the contract are designed to limit the transfer of wealth from the KRI to GKP without getting 'value for money' service in return. Imagining a new purchaser can just extend the contract would enable us to receive a higher offer from a Shaikan purchaser than would otherwise be the case, something the contract is designed to stop. If we are selling Shaikan, we are selling it with the value proposition implied by the current PSC terms. Paul Carrol (and your 150 other monikers as listed by GKPInvestor), why would anyone pay $8 a barrel, when 84% of revenue per barrel goes to the KRG under the current terms of the PSC once the cost recovery pool is depleted? I wouldn't normally address you by your real name, but when you use 150 avatars, it is too difficult to type them all out. The spamming off of anybody who disagrees with your misconceptions says a lot. | nobull
