15/10/2016 18:56 | wasn't Asher on the board at the time? | wildrider7
15/10/2016 18:54 | How do GRH and Oilman63 know about supposed "blazing rows" in the GKP boardroom about Adnan Samarrai supposedly "saving the day" by persuading the board not to listen to Todd Kozel and John Gerstenlauer, who supposedly wanted to hand the Shaikan PSC back with the well not completed, and Adnan Samarrai supposedly wanting to abandon Sheikh Adi-1 with the well not completed? Note that the latter story is a sort of variant on the first? Which is KNOWN TO BE UNTRUE. Is Adnsn Samarrai the source of these stories? Or are are they coming from someone else? The first story would, surely, have to come from someone who was credible. Wouldn't that have to be someone who was in the GKP boardroom prior to the Shaikan-1 discovery RNS? Who might that be? Or is it all just made up? GRH believed it, as I recall. Very strange indeed. | ![]() oil_investor
15/10/2016 18:21 | I think it's more that you guys need to go back to the drawing board when thinking you know how to value companies better than the market. And to be constantly spouting pre 2014 data is naive to say the least.Carroll got so carried away that he didn't even take up the OO because he could not believe a multi billion $ bid wasn't coming.Simple fact is, you guys called it wrong, badly. | hearts1
15/10/2016 18:09 | owdbuffer15 Oct '16 - 15:52 - 523175 The point is information was hidden from shareholders. If so it was a criminal act. Fraud in my book. ==> point is Information still IS hidden from shareholders and the red submarine crew really goes the extra kilometer to prevent any talk about it. Ridicule or Rebuff ... while constantly deflecting away from current management Is that face of GKP IR i wonder? | wildrider7

15/10/2016 17:38 | Nicebut makes a fair point, and I don't have a problem with that. He raises, in effect, two possibilities: (a) it WAS a figure for Reserves (b) it was an OIP figure, wrongly labelled. Now the explanation that Dr. Lorenz has given is that he needed a Reserves figure for the slide. He says he searched on the Internet and he found 9.38 billion barrels. And one can indeed find such a statement, by Ceri Jones on 13 March 2014. What Jones had done was report the ERC OIP figure as "Reserves". It's kind of odd: why didn't Dr. Lorenz ask his co-author Stafford? And surely Dr. Lorenz knew *broadly* how many recoverable barrels there were in Shaikan from the extensive fracture work which he had done for GKP? Or did he think "it's something around 9 billion barrels, I think" and then when he saw the figure, think "yes, that must be it" and hence use it. Todd's remuneration doesn't come into it. | ![]() oil_investor

15/10/2016 17:24 | O_I, Which is why I think you may have unwittingly stumbled on just another part of the TK (GKP )ramp.... It`s either a typo or a `seriously misleading figure`. I agree. IMO GKP will just say of course it was OIP...Infact they have havn`t they. | ![]() nicebut

15/10/2016 17:16 | nestoframpers: the statement that Shaikan contains 9.38 billion barrels of RESERVES was made on Slide #4 of the presentation "Fractured Reservoirs of the Shaikan Anticline, Northern Iraq". April 2014. The three authors are Dr. Lorenz, Dr. Cooper (both of Fracture Studies LLC) and John Stafford. GKP refused to allow the shareholders to see the presentation, and Vvedenskaya told untruths about it. She said it was superseded by the CPR, but the CPR actually PRECEDED it. She claimed that it contained outdated information, whereas in truth it contained geological data which doesn't "date" as such. She made real or perceived threats against some shareholders (not myself) asking for the slides...that is a problem for her, because the FCA are aware of all this. Then Stafford said in July 2015 that the shareholders couldn't see the presentation, on the grounds that he hadn't given the presentation. He admitted that he had checked the slides and had made some corrections prior to the presentation to the AAPG. Jon Ferrier was then in post as CEO and he became aware of what Vvedenskaya and Stafford had been doing...he wasn't happy. This is in email. He said things shouldn't be done that way. He had it investigated. In October 2015 he had the AAPG presentation put onto the website. When the shareholders were finally able to see it, they spotted the Reserves figure of 9.38 billion barrels. Someone at GKP then AMENDED THE ORIGINAL SLIDE TO MAKE IT READ OIL-IN-PLACE. This is NOT the approved method of making alterations to a published document. So on the most generous interpretation, which is that the figure was always Oil In Place and the legend was incorrect, (a) Stafford had approved a seriously misleading figure about Reserves which was given to the AAPG, and (b) an irregular method of correcting that figure was then applied. | ![]() oil_investor
