BiggerThus: Nadhim Zahawi MP, who is personally aware of a number of serious GKP matters including Police investigation, joined GKP at the same time as Jon Ferrier. So he couldn't have been appointed for the reason you give as a possibility, because the dates don't work.

Jon Ferrier was unaware, between some 6 and 9 months into the job, of a number of matters because he had not been briefed. In my corporate days, the arrival of a new CEO, Chairman or Minister resulted in a massive exercise by the Directors and their teams to produce very comprehensive briefing material. Some examples of what Jon Ferrier had obviously not been briefed upon are as follows;

* the Fracture Porosity delta

* the reason that Jeremy Asher was sacked (but Andrew Simon was involved in it as Chairman, and it has to be minuted: why was he not told?)

* the reason that Chris Garrett had left GKP as VP Operations

* that what Vvedenskaya had told him about the CPR webcast being "permanently lost, with no back-ups" simply was not true

* that the Shaikan gas *could* be monetised via a power generation plant (he had been told that it could not be)

* that important presentations were being concealed from the shareholders

* that John Stafford had told the SPE that Shaikan was planned to produce 440,000 bopd from the Jurassic alone

* that there were serious issues in the Erbil office

He was however aware that someone within GKP was leaking information to Oilman63.
