Probably waiting on huge payments to Chinese consultants
to file the paperwork- as before.

Caijiaying... 2nd largest operating zinc mine in China... mining licence will be renewed when renewal is required and not before.

Of course, this is all idle speculation.

The definitive account will be revealed later today when Alan shares his lunchtime briefing notes from really rich friend.

Maybe so, tygwyg.

But at 1.5 million tonne/annum they can only process a fraction of it before the licence expires.

They have no plans to expand the plant and, as far as we know, no plans to extend the licence.

It would seem to be too much trouble for them. The best we can hope for is that someone else is being lined up to do the necessary heavy lifting.

Some numbers to underline your point, Rose.

On 26th February the company announced their latest buyback programme stating:-
“the Company will purchase up to 10 million outstanding ordinary shares beginning immediately”.

Their idea of immediate doesn’t chime with mine. 10 weeks were allowed to elapse before the buying of stock began in earnest on 1st May.

During this period of inactivity the share price rose from 99p to 157p.

Since restarting the share price has slipped to the present 150p

So results next week

I note the NAV ps at the half year was $1.32
This week Panmure are paying £1.50

Surely they are not buying shares back at a premium

Alan. I don't believe I've mentioned EL more than half a dozen times in 5 years .

As for worrying about Zoo, I'm sure he has his Offshore Skipper certificate along with his SPB. So no worries there.

You seem to miss him rather more than the rest of us do.

For all your talk of tree shakes and faintheartedness, I don't regret lightening up my holding for a nice profit, whilst retaining a decent stake.

Alan. Check my post on Thursday 2nd.May #74335. 50,000 av. 1.571, posted 2 hours before appeared on market.

Since then a further 100,000 av. 1.495.

Equals 150,000 av. 1.52

What don't you understand about that?

I suppose the answer to that is "everything".

PS

Your feeble posts about marmalade serve only to confirm that you are a very stupid man.

just shy of 1.1m shares traded today. quite a change from the previous average of below 80,000 and share price did alright.

someone must declare a stake soon unless using different entities? and maybe Bermudan rules?
