Hello sage nice to hear from you ,you realise by mentioning a small dividend you will have a friend in Rose again! I am still a bit perturbed that my broker in London still repeatedly makes griffin a sell,hey have heard nothing for so long that they can't even give it a rating,my BANGO shares are moving up nicely ,I think the usa China debate has got more chance of happening than Brexit,keep smiling,

Hi Zooman, Cd, MWF and Alan. Good to see some no nonsense posting from Zooman. We remain in news blackout mode and I believe results will be late April this year. In the meantime strong gold and zinc in recent weeks may tip the balance in favour of a small dividend. My understanding is that the low quality ore which led to poor results last time round ( combined with lower commodity prices) will not be repeated.I expect that once the US/China trade war is over sentiment will change here but the big one is the license. Until we get the license expect the BOD to remain tight lipped ( why no JORC for years?)think about it. For me GFM remains a game of strategy and patience with a volatile commodity market thrown in to keep us on our toes. Have been nibbling away buying up shares sub £1. Seems like my predicted low of 80-90p has held. I remain long term very positive on GFM.

You have to wonder how the LME is
dissuading people from withdrawing stocks.
It happens every time they get near a
graph division. Stocks were plunging and
then the line leveled out. That will hold
for a bit longer and then it will crash
through and resume the slide. At least,
that's the pattern.

P. Cant help but wonder if they are going to include an update on the licence, will be interesting to watch to see if any of the major holders start to buy more albeit the MMs will need to make a market by dropping the price. There again they could also have arranged to give notice of talks about the company's future at the same time as the results. None of the BOD are getting any younger!Someone posted that the Chinese were building up their stock of zinc? Griffin have to be selling it to someone and they're on the door step.Should be interesting .Zoo

Rose. Yes let’s hope so. As zoo says not long now till all will be revealed. Some analysts are quite bullish on gold and silver and surely the current level of zinc stocks must start impacting soon.

A. I remember having a conversation with RG and at the time he was rather miffed because they felt there had been leaks. Which is why I think they play things closer to their chest. This was around the time of the dual listing conversations.Anyway not long now.Zoo

Millwallfan- Yes they did, and it paid off in
the 2017 full year results. What I am pointing
out is upgrades and improvements that took place
after the 2017 results and did not therefore
influence those results but may have an influence
on the 2018 results about to be released. Further
reason for optimism, not old news. OK? I don't
know how to explain it any better.

Rose. Not 100% sure but I think they commenced a programme of mine and processing facility upgrade and refurb as early 2015/2016 or possibly earlier. They did (as now) come in for some stick but it ensured they could maximise throughput for the period when zinc price rose from mid 2017 to deliver debt free status and record profits - hence my earlier 'praise' for their actions.

The mine improvements I noted took place after
the last full year report and will affect this
year's report, insofar as they have an effect.
Even without the licence over new resources,
they may bring about an increase in production.

The results will be 7 April give or take couple of days. The new trucks were just part of a general mine refurb/upgrade which the BoD had the good sense and forethought to initiate in the flat period prior to the 2017/18 upturn which took the company debt free and the share price to £1.60. The upgrade made provision to increase processing capacity by nearly 100% - hence the criticality of the license extension which IF combined with improved zinc,gold and silver prices will IMHO propel us forward to new heights and , possibly just possibly a d......d ---- shhhhhh .

In March 2018, the "first of a fleet" of
20 tonne haulage trucks was delivered.
These are to replace the "ageing" 10 and 12
tonne trucks, allowing more tonnage to be
hauled from underground more economically
with fewer truck movements. Perhaps we will
see some benefit from this upgrade, if the
"fleet" has continued to arrive. Other new
equipment was on order for 2018 to increase
mining capacity, and a second portal was due
to be completed in April 2018 to improve
ventilation and haulage flexibility.

what positives might the BOD announce?

-Licence approval (in fact it should be announced as soon as it is given - should not come with results)?
-Dividend?
-improvement in grades?
-big improvement in gold content?
- doubling of size of dairy herd
-tickets for shareholders to Winter Olympics?


If you dont think many of these are likely then portfolio diversification might be appropriate

PS Anyone have heads up on results date?

I will be bed-and-ISAing some Griffin. A dividend
will lift all boats, as I have explained many times.
Why gains-chasers are opposed (sorry, COMPLETELY
INDIFFERENT) I cannot understand.
