09/2/2019 14:31 | I believe the discourse started with an entirely on-topic exploration of whether the Chinese would regard Griffin as an Australian company or not, with several posters putting different points in what was a complex patchwork of national identifiers. Then someone decided they wanted to attack other posters by nit- picking, point scoring, and outright misrepresentation, which is where these things usually go off the rails. | rose_by_another_name
08/2/2019 21:06 | Hi Zooman No no premium service Cheers CD | neville1940
08/2/2019 20:26 | But Zoom, you did apologise. To the "other posters". In message 30433. I was suggesting that you did not need to do that if you removed the language that you believed would upset them from your post, and instead conveyed it to me privately. I would not seek an apology or be interested in one. There is no need to sadden innocent bystanders and then try to soften it with an apology, when you can avoid the offence in the first place. | rose_by_another_name
08/2/2019 20:05 | Sorry CD forgot to get back to you. Do you have premium service as you need that to access it.Zoo | zooman
08/2/2019 19:43 | Apart from Zoo, CD and myself no-one has had the pleasure of Burnchat’s posts over many years elsewhere when one could spend an entire weekend trying to interpret one message on Griffins performance. Long may he reign lol | millwallfan
08/2/2019 19:37 | Rose, two hopes of me apologising are two fold.Bob Hope and No Hope, you are what you are. Well off to sit by a nice log fire along with a glass of something nice. ;-)Zoo | zooman
08/2/2019 18:43 | Not sure what to make of that, Zoom. Are you saying you don't believe it, or that you do? Burnchat- Your message, quite aside from what you are trying to say, may also convey your level of literacy. You are accentuating the garble in this case for effect, of course, but using correct spelling and good grammar helps the reader understand what you are saying without little distractions from the substance, and it actually gives your words more weight. | rose_by_another_name
08/2/2019 18:04 | Rose how unbelievable, talk about conceited and the pure arrogance. I have never referred to someone with those words on a BB but you just take the biscuit . No wonder Sage and CD laughed and walked away from this BB. I apologise to other posters.Zoo | zooman
08/2/2019 17:24 | Wow Burnchat I understood that last post better than most of your cryptic proper English ones lol | millwallfan

08/2/2019 16:47 | Didn't quite follow you re: "pick up other editors," but here are some samples of thank-you notes from writers whose typos I had reported- "Thanks for this, by the by. Fixed!" "Thank you - will change now" "Thank you for alerting us to it." "Thanks for catching that. The post has been updated. Have a great day!" "Thanks so much! Ugh, that is an unfortunate typo." People who live by their writing are usually happy to have such help. Expressions of resentment or annoyance are amateurish, so I seldom bother trying to help amateurs. There are a lot of stories about Shakespeare, mostly apocryphal. Very little is actually known about his life. There is a great book by Bill Bryson that tries to sort out the facts. | rose_by_another_name
08/2/2019 13:57 | I didn't say where Ninkov was born. I said he was Russian, which was probably not correct in a nationality sense, unless he has dual citizenship. Maybe he does. People often think I am American because of the way I speak, but I was born in the UK. Culturally? Meh. Anyway, I did not say where he was born. That is an error and you should stop making it. Shakespeare's line goes: "What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet; So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd, Retain that dear perfection which he owes Without that title. " So as you see, the rose is Romeo. People assume that a flower must be feminine, but in the play, the rose is definitely not Juliet, if you are associating it with a character. | rose_by_another_name
08/2/2019 13:38 | His heritage is one thing but he was born in Perth. Not Russia as your mate stated. Attention to detail is important as a long term share holder as I'm sure you will agree?Have you got a budgie?Zoo | zooman
08/2/2019 13:13 | Rosie,You take your nickname from R&J act two scene two maybe we should refer to you and Phillis as R&J given it was some Forty odd years after S death that a woman played the part. In 1660ish. Thus I wonder whose the train and who is the tunnel? All in jest of course. Now where was the chairman born? Yes very easy to get things wrong do you not think?Love the banter especially? with you, however would it be possible that you could post things regarding the company that are factual? Given you were an editor I'm sure you would appreciate the point of being correct and factual at the same time.On a serious note, some interesting trades shown this morning not sure if it's someone balancing their books or what? Next week may well turn out to be rather interesting. One shall just have to wait and see!Anyway love the banter. ;-)Zoo's | zooman
