05/2/2019 11:14 | From share price Angel Zinc US$ 2,808/t vs US$2,787/t yesterday • Zinc prices rise to seven-month high, supported by shortage concerns due to falling stocks and environmental constraints, while delays to new capacity across top producer China exacerbate the physical market. • China's zinc output came in at 4.53mt in 2018, according to a survey of smelters by Antaike. That marked a fall of 4.6%, or 218,000t, from 2017, the steepest drop since 2013. • Stocks of zinc at 112,500t are less than half the levels seen last August. Also worrying the market are cancelled warrants -- metal earmarked for delivery - at nearly 50% of total stocks. • Concern about nearby zinc supplies has been fuelled by one company holding between 50-79% of LME zinc warrants and cash contracts. • Zinc was the worst performer in the base metals complex in 2018, reporting a 25.7% drop on concerns of oversupply. It is up nearly 13% so far this year. • U.S. President Donald Trump said last week he will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping soon to try to seal a comprehensive trade deal as Trump and his trade negotiator both cited substantial progress in two days of talks. Any boost in global trade is expected to tighten the zinc market as requirements rise. | ukgeorge
05/2/2019 09:24 | No problem. :-) | zooman
05/2/2019 09:23 | It's about choice, clearly you are not in love with the share which is a good thing some people pour a lot of money into a share fall in love with it and think it will be the best thing. As you have said you've moved money about and spread it into other shares, the way I see it its a good plan to have.In answer to your question it's been about the long term plans with GFM which I feel is coming to fruition. Albeit there is so much going on around the world at the moment Trump and his import taxes and wall, Brexit, just to name two which have an effect on things. The stock market is not for the faint hearted more so now than it's ever been however spreading your exposure is not a bad thing. Zoo | zooman
05/2/2019 09:15 | Zoo, Sorry you felt patronised that was not my intention. | up just a little bit
05/2/2019 08:57 | Zoo I still hold a fair chunk but have been lightening up Why? Better places to be Absent a licence ( and a dividend!) - capacity / throughput is fixed - grades are static ( softening according to the last set of results) - construction is falling in China - economy needing to be stimulated ( how will this work out?) Why would the zinc price increase when everywhere but the USA is softening? | phillis
05/2/2019 08:23 | I've lived a lot Edwads ,the most exiting thing that happens now is dreaming of Rose shouting out DIVIDEND ! in the middle of the night, | alangrifbang
05/2/2019 08:23 | I suggest you read my second post regarding Rosie, It stated that it was a mistake and should have been pointed at Phillis. As such I don't feel that Rosie is a shrinking violet and needs protecting especially when a said person was referred to incorrectly and apologised to. Can make yourself look silly by sticking your horns and being patronising. Enough said on that I think!Zoo | zooman
05/2/2019 07:34 | "lively discussion with a modicum of humour" is fine. Language is where your posts fall down. Alan : Love your enthusiasm but I wish you would live a little bit more! Wish I knew more about the intricacies of why GFM are not communicating more. | ewads
04/2/2019 22:15 | I think it was probably Granny doing the buying | phillis
04/2/2019 22:03 | If nothing happens in the morning I will phone my broker in London to see what there opinion is,they are not Griffin fans ,they have told me to sell on many occasions but I have chosen to ignore them, let's hope they know something, and zinc goes up again in the morning, | alangrifbang
04/2/2019 21:32 | Hold your horses Alan he's not called nobody he's called up... | burnchat
04/2/2019 21:28 | He was back last week but not in the office on Friday. Maybe given how things are in the world to arrange for an RNS on Friday to be released on Monday may be seen as risky. Taking into account that companies do have a degree of leeway not large granted to release information it could be possible if there is news we could see something tomorrow. But what do I know I spend time up in the air. Hahaha. It it is good luck for tomorrow. I shall be checking to see if there is an RNS first thing.Zoo | zooman
04/2/2019 21:21 | He could give me some I fancy my own plane again but to get away with that I will definitely need a new patio. Haha.Come on CD come and play.....Zoo | zooman
04/2/2019 21:20 | I'm hoping that if trump and China cone to an agreement on a trade deal this may push up the price,Roger has come back from China and is back to work today , I know it's unusual for GFM but maybe something has happened on his visit, patience patience patience | alangrifbang
04/2/2019 21:11 | zoo Don’t worry it was probably just CD using some of his petty cash lol | millwallfan
04/2/2019 20:51 | Sorry Rosie I meant Phillis it's been a long somewhat focusing day. Apologies.Zoo | zooman
04/2/2019 20:48 | Dunno Rosie, but the price lifted today. We shall just need to see what happens over the next few days to see if this was a blip or if there is some substance to it. Having said that someone was still happy to spend £800k today. Was that you adding to your holding today Rosie? However you can place your negative slant if it makes you feel happy, or maybe you may like to enlighten us with you opinion. Please don't be shy. :-) Zoo | zooman
04/2/2019 20:31 | Demand for zinc in China falling Construction industry falling of a cliff Car industry down and falling further without doubt What will the Chinese stimulation bring? | phillis
04/2/2019 20:12 | Nobody asked you burnchat! | alangrifbang
04/2/2019 19:51 | I've been doing my pilots rating conversion and update. Then on Friday it seems to stall (Please excuse the pun) then yesterday and today it has started to all come together.I wonder if a similar description can be used for GFM.Zinc Price.US trade discussions. One of the large holders topping up.Licence approval.Possible takeover discussions. A price correction.Or Rosie's dividend to be approved. The problem is that there are many variables which could be associated with the rise. I think we need to keep a watching eye and see how things pan out. It just could be the starting of our time. One can hope. Interesting times me thinks. :-) Zoo | zooman
04/2/2019 19:50 | This time next year Rodders | up just a little bit
04/2/2019 18:45 | Zinc at 6 month high and stocks at lowest ever. Time for gfm share price to reverse its usual inverse relationship to these driving factors. A continuation of those curves plus Reasonable results in April and, if zoo is right about the licence issues finalisation then perhaps just perhaps......... | millwallfan |
