07/2/2019 11:33 | So you knowingly mis-characterised the Spitfire connection? | rose_by_another_name
07/2/2019 10:56 | I'm well aware of the history. Having been in this company for many years trading the share to a very good advantage. Well happy with this little beauty.Sit down and have a cup of tea... :-)Zoo | zooman
07/2/2019 10:34 | Zoo- The Spitfire empire reference was ironic, and yes, I know irony is difficult online. Spitfire "Oil" has no oil. They own a lignite deposit and were supposed to be developing a method of processing low grade coal into oil. It is not just tied to Griffin by common board members. Griffin bought a whole bunch of the shares when a big holder bailed years ago. | rose_by_another_name
07/2/2019 10:22 | Funny thing there Phillis I can read I can also spot BS.... I also know that it's an opinion not factual. The reality is that it's not registered or listed in Australia. Do you not understand that. | zooman
07/2/2019 10:18 | Zoo the Chairman himself told me that the Chinese consider the Company to be Australian Cant you read? Do you suppose he might know a little more about it than you? Turnbull was PM in Australia for 3 years til he was kicked out in 2018 and the Chinese don't like him | phillis
07/2/2019 09:08 | The connection is Spitfire Oil which is tied into GFM via the board. It is listed on the LSE and is trading at about 4p.No big empire connection.Zoo | zooman
06/2/2019 22:48 | Phillis the company is registered in Burmuda and listed in the UK it has an international team. Just because the Chairman is Australian it does not make it Australian. So based on the above if the Chairman of Rolls Royce was from India does that then make the company Indian? The Zinc is sold to smelters in China they employ Chinese workforce China is trying to clean up its act in many ways and improve employment thus if the new mining licence once approved created more output there would be more sold to the smelters and maybe some would not be closed down..Zoo | zooman
06/2/2019 22:38 | If you ask for price sensitive information you will get jack. However if you ask about processes and time scales and loops still to be jumped through it starts to give you an idea of where things could be at.Some people don't know how to ask these type of questions? hence they come away with nothing. You only have to look at some info posted on here, for example where the Chairman was born. I don't think incorrect information was posted deliberately but it's not hard to find the correct information.I don't post many things that I feel may happen because I can't be bothered to have to justify them.Zoo | zooman
06/2/2019 22:21 | Alan Here is why the licence application is stuck The Chinese are getting their own back on the Aussies "We at Turnbull and Partners established this first Sino-foreign joint venture company in the Chinese mineral exploration sector in l994. And I am very pleased to see the company has prospered tremendously over the last twenty years, making significant contributions to the local community, local economy and all the stake holders in the venture. It is certainly one of the few successful examples of cross border cooperation between China and western countries in the mineral and mining fields. While I have not had a financial interest in the project for many years, it is good to see that our geologist colleague Zhou Bo who was instrumental in identifying the resource and negotiating the terms of our involvement has remained involved, working hard to build the great mine that you have today. It is my hope that the Company will grow stronger and stronger over the next twenty years, making more significant contributions to the economic development of China. 06/2/2019 22:09 | I have had many conversations with him over the years, also my late wife did .also,we used to chat about all sorts of things and it was very good, but since the share price has risen the last half a dozen calls have not done anything at all,he is still very pleasant ,but a closed book, the last results were awful I just hope they give a lot of thought into what they release next time, | alangrifbang
06/2/2019 21:44 | I spoke to him last Thursday and have posted my thoughts based on that conversation. Roger is not stupid he's not going to say this is what's going to happen and when. What is posted on any BB regarding what may be going on is assumptions. Why don't you give him a call because one thing he did say is that he doesn't speak to many shareholders which I find strange when people say they talk to the company a lot.If you do talk to him ask him if he enjoyed my video flying over Cornwall?Zoo | zooman
06/2/2019 21:18 | Well zooman perhaps you would like to speak to Roger and work out what they don't say, good luck | alangrifbang
06/2/2019 21:00 | As I've said before? when you speak to the company not only is it the questions that you ask but how they answer them and what they don't say. Then the rest is guess work trying to put the bits together and come up with a reasonable assumption. HahaZoo | zooman
06/2/2019 20:46 | As I commented before it is certainly not being driven by volume of purchases so it must be the upward drift in POZ. Surely any speculation on results or licence, whatever it is based upon, would translate into purchase volume although I guess if current holders are not prepared to sell then that in itself would help the price as the market makers try to tempt them. All very interesting methinks. | millwallfan
06/2/2019 20:21 | Personally if there was a sniff of bad news I think this would have been marked down straight away, instead it went up,I just wish Roger would let something slip about his trip to China,as usual the rise is only based on speculation, | alangrifbang
06/2/2019 20:11 | Yike- That I did not know. | rose_by_another_name
06/2/2019 17:59 | I'd be very angry if I bought 800000 shares and then got bad news, still very strong keep the faith, | alangrifbang
06/2/2019 16:50 | I believe I saw something a long time ago that said Ninkov, although Russian, was very prominent in Australian social circles. And of course there is the connection to the Australian Spitfire lignite empire. | rose_by_another_name
06/2/2019 16:30 | well I have had it from the horse's mouth(Chairman) so your disagreement is irrelevant | phillis
06/2/2019 16:26 | Phillis. I don’t agree GFM are perceived to be an Australian company by the chinese authorities so would not expect to see any negative impact of that article in terms of GFM. Indeed as I and others have said before GFM appear very well regarded | millwallfan
06/2/2019 15:24 | From the FT Not good news for GFM, seen by the Chinese as an Australian Co "Canberra has cancelled the residency of a prominent Chinese businessman with ties to Beijing, leaving him stranded abroad, in a move that reflects growing concerns about Chinese influence in Australian politics and society. Huang Xiangmo, founder of property developer Yuhu Group, is a prolific donor to Australian political parties and a former president of the Australian Council for the Peaceful Reunification of China — a group with links to China’s Communist party. In 2016 he became embroiled in a political donations scandal involving an opposition MP, which prompted Canberra to draft tough new foreign interference laws. Two individuals with close knowledge of Mr Huang’s situation confirmed to the Financial Times on Wednesday a report in the Melbourne Age that said Australian officials had cancelled Mr Huang’s permanent residency and turned down his long-delayed application for Australian citizenship. | phillis
06/2/2019 14:58 | Well done rose ,your last post didn't contain the word dividend, | alangrifbang
06/2/2019 13:37 | millwallfan- All three out of four you mean. That should take us back to where we were a year ago. Fake announcement on licence, very short lived record production figures in report, and a much higher POZ than currently, all brought back to earth shortly afterwards. Here's hoping! There is one more thing that they could actually do, without the waiting and hoping. | rose_by_another_name
06/2/2019 11:48 | As the price goes up it is worth considering that some of the other producers have in some cases reduced or have shut down parts of production. In essence this puts us on the front foot to a degree which will be a great help along with the other things in the pipe line. You never know Rosie may be made happy with a dividend notification albeit I would not expect that to be announced until the results if it is going to happen.Still all about keeping a watching eye open.If you look at GGP a lesson there regarding buying on the rumours and sell on the news could very well apply here . Zoo | zooman
06/2/2019 10:59 | Great to see slow but steady progress on minimal volume so I guess must just be related to POZ rather than advance anticipation of results or licence, just imagine if all 3 became positive within the same short time period March and April !!!!! | millwallfan |
