Do you own GGP directly or via SVE?

Guy's can we stick to posting relevant comments about GGP. No one is really interested in who said what and when.

If that was directed at me, zoo, then your
memory is as faulty as ever. I bought some
GGP at four pence, which is not 400% of
two pence. When I learned of SVE (thanks to
zedder) and the huge discount on NAV, I sold
GGP at a gain and put the money into SVE,
which has since gone up tracking GGP (its
major holding). You followed me into SVE.

Your boasting about share tips that you
get from your wife does not a "no risk"
investment make. Hindsight gains do not
change the fact of the risk that is taken
when buying a share prior to the hoped
for gain.

No risk at all, I told you about GGP when it was two pence but you waited until it was 400 percent up before you bought in. Which was your choice. 2000 percent up last year and things are lined up for this year to be good.NCM knew exactly what they were doing and the JV has assisted GGP no end.

Greatland Gold plc, (Google reports - trending down A security with one of the largest percentage declines since its last closing price)

Why one should go up the other down when the future of both is tied in together, unless their GGP JV's are no good and this is far from the truth.

But I added so the world is ok

RBAN,

I wouldn't` call it a risk, the grades as we`ve seen don't come very often, just a common business sense.
Sprott and Steve Toduruk called it right ....after first few drill holes.
Will try to find initial report.

Newcrest took a risk and it paid off,
much as shareholders did here.

A 'bargain' is a deal that suits both parties, and Newcrest go a great bargain, and
I think at the end of the road Greatland will be seen to have got a great deal.

EXACTLY!

The truth is a bit of a very big cake is still bigger than the whole cake if you cannot put together the cash to get the ingredients.

A 'bargain' is a deal that suits both parties, and Newcrest go a great bargain, and I think at the end of the road Greatland will be seen to have got a great deal.

Greatland will be at least a mid-tier company not relying on share placing to make their way in the world.

Remember the whole thing could have gone wrong for Newcrest, it does not look like it will, and therefore it looks like they got their share on the cheap - I don't think so.

Early days for Scallywag.
If there is a similar deal and grades are good...I think GGP shareholders will be laughing...."all the way to the bank"
Let`s put things in perspective.
This kind of drilling NCM is undertaking is way beyond GGP or any other junior.
C`mon...150 kilometers of drilling, people would have been complaining about dilution.
Just imagine we raised £20 million @2p 18 months ago.
GGP is a small exploration company...for now....let`s not kid ourselves.
Newcrest deal has been great for this company.
Of course, there will be a few bumps on the road....as expected.
Lucky to have projects/land around the big boys, RIO and NCM.

"Drilling in the current period was impacted by seasonal wet weather with up to eight drill rigs operational. Currently, all drill rigs are operational on the growth drilling program with a focus on the North West Crescent, Northern Breccia Zone and depth extension of the South East Crescent and Breccia. This drilling is aimed to provide support for the potential expansion of the existing Inferred Mineral Resource estimate. Drill testing and interpretation of the geological and mineralisation controls of the Eastern Breccia Zone is ongoing. Further targets outside of Havieron, but within the joint venture area with Greatland Gold, have been identified with the potential to conduct drilling to test these targets in the future."

Newcrest have done well at the expense of Greatland Gold.
They owned 40% and have spent $45m to get to owning 60%.
If they owned 40% they should have paid 40% of the costs anyway, so they have only spent $22.5m extra.
They are now on for 70% by spending another $20m, when with 60% they should be paying £12m anyway.
So for $34.5m they have got another 30% of Havieron.
That`s 70% of Havieron they have got for peanuts.
If they do a similar deal on Scallywag then Newcrest shareholders will be laughing all the way to the bank again.

Haven't held this one long enough to understand it's (bowel) movements but will have to see how the rest of the day pans out

I think this will finish flat or blue today but whoever really knows?
plenty of games going on around these levels
I'm just sitting tight (have been since the New Year...) and waiting to see how things pan out at Scally/Juri/etc
Haveiron has made the company and I'm backing them still to have a good chance (no guarantees in mining exploration to be sure..) to find more of the good stuff
Gold price has been in a downtrend since August last year but is showing signs of perking up - we're still firmly on a bulltrend in gold on the longer-term chart
Covid still has a long way to run, especially on a global view
Bitcoin looking like it's had its fun and is running out of steam
Major economies are soooo much in debt now and that has to be good for gold going forward
I hold some other solid gold stocks but none have run like GGP in 2020 and I'm more than happy to take a long view here
I haven''t sold any of my original stake although I would have been better to sell mid-30's and buy back in but whoever can predict these thngs?
Not me for sure- I back my hunches and hold like a bear up a tree

good luck , all
