27/1/2014 10:57 | Volume £20k. Risk aversion I should think. | philo124
27/1/2014 10:52 | Whats happening - dropping like a stone. 76/80 Sell tip ????????/ or worse news leaking of problemss Any knowledge .. | pugugly
27/1/2014 10:51 | Waiting for the farmout that never comes! | salpara111
23/1/2014 11:21 | 1 Oil & Gas Producer is enough for me Philo124! Congratulations on your 18k trading gain incidentally :-) | hyperboreus
23/1/2014 11:09 | Yes I have a list of dogs with big losses where I have waited and waited, Yet when I have sold a dog, I never give it another thought. Funny eh? I am at b/e here. The plan is for GKP to go to £3.50 and I clear all my dogs against that gain; but that's been the plan for over a year. I am up a net 18k this tax year on my trading so will clear 7k of dog losses before the tax year end; this is not on my list, I still hope to sell at c120p but I think now this Is simply based on hope. | philo124
23/1/2014 10:38 | I agree that the whole thing is rather ropey which is why I have only committed half my normal stake. Having said that the big holders have exactly the same objective as the small ones....to make a good return on their investment. I will be strict with myself in terms of the timeline as I have been in situations before where I have bought a stock and waited.....and waited, the longer I waited the more invested I felt and as such found it harder to sell up and move on. The next results are only a couple of months away and at that point they will have been trying to put a farmout together for over a year so I don't think it will be acceptable for them to just say "we are still working on it" | salpara111
23/1/2014 10:26 | Fair comment thanks. | philo124
23/1/2014 09:47 | I wouldn't get too obsessed with 'Director Buys' Philo124, if you analyse their collective purchases since 14 October 2011 there have been 22 in total of which only 4 have been lower than the current share price of 85P. I reckon that between them they have bought 372,860 shares at a total outlay of £367,841 which averages out at a share price of 98.65p for each share purchased, therefore at this moment in time they are sat on a paper loss in the region of £51,000. In any case annual results are usually anounced around the last week in March therefore they have very little time even if they were inclined to purchase shares before the Company enters its close period. So I think we should all be able to conclude that Director share purchases would appear to be irrelevant in the case of GED, what should be more of a concern for everyone one of us is the total failure to communicate with UK shareholders, the lack of newsflow whether it be in relation to production or the farm out process is shambolic. GED may well announce great results in 2 months time and a farm out deal may well be on the table, on the other hand something might have affected current production and a deal may be nowhere in sight, what really gets under my skin is the way the Directors and their 'concert cronies' treat us with total disdain, as I have alluded to before there is no accountability with GED and ultimately we do not know what their end game is. | hyperboreus
23/1/2014 09:24 | Well, I took a stake 2 days ago with a time horizon of 3 months. They are not known for delivering but they are now under real pressure to deliver the farmout which should allow the share price to climb back to the top of its trading range around the 110-120 level. If they reach the next set of results without getting the farmout in place I will reassess my holding. | salpara111
23/1/2014 07:23 | They need to pull their finger out. How long does it take to find a partner! | geraldton1
22/1/2014 18:15 | I think we will see 90p before too long and more Director Buys. | philo124
16/1/2014 17:55 | Ws that a dead cat bounce yesterday ?? Looks as though it might be - 1 step up then 2 steps down. Like waiting for non dry anti climb paint to dry - A waste of time !!! | pugugly
15/1/2014 12:29 | If you are already in then I guess that downside is limited but the lack of delivery on the farmout does suggest a rather inept management which is making me hesitate about taking a stake. | salpara111
15/1/2014 10:38 | I am going to hold on as I suspect the Directors will start buying again, may have started already. | philo124
15/1/2014 10:20 | Good looking bounce back! Oversold? Or good news on the way? | waleoilbeefhooked
14/1/2014 14:13 | Salpara111:. Volume on the 6 month chart suggests a lot of buy volume in the £1.00-1.05 range with substantial back-up between 94p & 99p From memory largely driven by ST's buy tip in the IC. So still a lot of potential stop-losses. However, seems to be some buying activity and MM's seem to be keeping a very short book and taking well under the offer price to sell. When and if the buyer has filled their book the share price could well drop back like a stone to below your 70p suggestion (imo) not one for widow's and orphans. | pugugly
14/1/2014 09:04 | Looks increasingly like a trip back to 70. I am looking to take a stake but currently engaged in a game of Russian roulette in that the share price is dropping but an announcement of a farmout should give a 30% bump in the share price so a bit of a gamble as to how long I hold off! | salpara111
13/1/2014 18:27 | has anyone on here emailed or contacted GED recently regarding any farm out news?just curious. | deanonewc
13/1/2014 09:43 | Yep, agreed. | philo124
13/1/2014 09:37 | SP now looking more attractive from a risk/reward perspective. Clearly they are having trouble getting a farmout agreed at an acceptable level and given that the business is self sustaining they should not settle for a poor deal. Having said that....if they cannot get a decent deal they should put the entire business up for sale as it would be small change for even a mid cap oiler to acquire. | salpara111
10/1/2014 16:11 | Looking soggy - ST's followers cutting losses ? or bad news leaking ? In whichever case (imo) no real short term support until the 75p area - (imo) Declaration Bulk of holding sold but worried about the balance. | pugugly
23/12/2013 13:00 | Well, the underlying business is actually sound enough with positive cash flow so it it self sustaining and the valuation is not overly ambitious so there should be no real risk to major downside here. I guess the issue is that they are not in trouble financially so they have no business in offering a farm in on unattractive financial terms. | salpara111
20/12/2013 18:15 | This looks to me like a classic value trap. In summary, a heavy oil play with plenty OOIP but they can't get it out of the ground and to market. Might be some upside share price movement if they ever manage to find a farm in partner which might prove a tad more difficult than they expected. | dukedosh
20/12/2013 15:01 | Could this be another ST (IC) miss-call? If I remember correctly he was also very keen on Iofina (IOE) and look what has happened there. Lack of newsflowwas a worry there and then lots of bad news in quick succession - I hope for all holders (including myself) that this is not the case but getting nervous. | pugugly |
