Slightly surprised that the bid is now well below where I sold. Still watching with interest.

More good news for those taking a more long term view of these things ;-)

Another $500K contract clocked up for the US dataset. Again for this financial year.

I assume the unconventionals quote is suggesting possible wider uses of the data - i.e. a larger addressable market.

Bizarrely I didn't. The bid/offer was 45/48 and for some reason there was 10k available for 45.75p... Per my post 1102.

cautious is logical and understandable

but you traded for 10% a small cap with a large spread?!

LOL, none of us know the results and management provided no meaningful guidance as to how bad they might be. Please don't blame me for being cautious about management's challenges in terms of their self-created business cycle.

Especially since you follow the stock, it was clear that the three year cycle of the initial programme would result in a 2014 shortfall, we are now in the next cycle running to 2017, cos. subscribing to the programme are now agreeing to subscribe/purchase the product hence the recent upswing in sentiment.

Shanklin, I must admit to being surprised that anyone would short term trade a stock like Getech.

I ask do you yourself know the 2013/14 year results, MAYBE POOR, but as said earlier, that's history and the accompanying statement will suggest things considerably better looking forward.

LOL bb

If you read back through the posts here you will see that I held circa 75k a while back. However GTC does have a frightful tendency to blow hot and cold and I am quite happy to take a quick 10% at a time when nobody outside the company has a clue how bad the current financial year will be.

All IMHO, DYOR.

Pointless, clearly you are just in for the quick buck, fair be it, but's if that's the case I'd stick to large caps. and futures if I were you, this will go much higher on an improving outlook!

Sold the 10k GTC I bought on Monday. 10%+ in two days a bit too much for me to ignore. GLAH.

One thing for sure is that every contract such as that today goes straight to the bottom line, this year's figures already reflected in the share price so any deal signed and delivered within the next month simply a bonus!

Held these late 2012/13, sold mid 2013, looking promising again, appears that renewed interest in latest Globe project now starting to engage customers again, somewhat bombed out share price could easily create spike upwards back towards at least the 60p mark and beyond, appears that contracts will start to drive future earnings back up to the original highs ultimately, hoping that cash balances still relatively strong although no doubt impacted by the drop in revenues.

I have spoken to Raymond recently, but on the condition I did not publish the content, which obviously I will respect. I formed the impression that sometimes bulletin board reports of conversations with him have not matched his recollection!

RCTurner2,

Have you spoken to Raymond recently? Any information or impressions you're able to share?

Worth mentioning that if anyone ever wishes to talk to the CEO directly, I have found him to be available if you call Getech.

Have very tentatively just bought 10k at 45.75p. Any more and the price was 47.9p.

I personally do not think they will be loss making in H2. From the Feb 17th Trading Update:

'A substantial part of second half income has already been committed'

Clearly they didn't pick up enough additional sales to hit the 5.5p EPS needed in H2 to make market expectations but don't think they'll be loss making.

I agree though that some extra info regarding cash balance would have been useful.

It would have been helpful had they commented on their cash situation within the profits warning, or put a number in the T/S that gave investors the worst case scenario. Management chose not to do this which has made me work on the basis that the likelihood is a loss for the year and a significant fall in cash.

I may be wrong but I would rather be sitting watching a potential car crash than be within the vehicle, at risk of suffering the associated pain.
