31/8/2017 21:55 | In the early nineties I worked on one of the highest h2s producers (oilfield) in the world at that time offshore angola , nothing to be overly concerned about at all. | d1nga
31/8/2017 21:09 | Although rather old (2008) this article may provide readers with some insight as to just how common sour fields are and that it is not preventing major developments; Brent $52.72 | cyan
31/8/2017 21:09 | Post on lse bb for genl, saying gas line from kurdistan to Turkey is nearly completed. Unfortunately not able to post as I on my phone. | kulvinder

31/8/2017 20:34 | I can only agree Cyan the positives just now are there and the share price should rise. I do however like to think of the downsides as well, your posting of the sulphur made me post as I have first hand knowledge which I wanted to share I was surprised by some of the responses. I generally only post if I can add to the knowledge base many here don't, yourself not included I hasten to add. I will post again when I have any insight, postive or negative. | pogue
31/8/2017 20:22 | Good evening pogue. I do seriously wonder if GENL will still be independent two years from now. A takeover by a much larger company is a serious possibility. I have learnt from my past mistakes and can fairly say that GENL has been my most successful O & G company investment over five years of buying and selling. Got this one more right than wrong and am content with my paper gains in recent weeks and months. Most of the oil & gas produced in Kurdistan is sour. It has not stopped other projects producing profitably . Yes, there have been political issues and the POO collapse hit everyone. We will learn within next 16 weeks how we are or maybe not , progressing the development of the gas fields. Even if the gas project does not get off the ground we have a valuable oil production business . Looks like Pesh will go at least some way to offset other lost production. UKOG and HUR have a lot of pi's in a frenzy for sure. Both have the potential to seriously disappoint and retrace. Am not touching either now. Brent $52.66 | cyan
31/8/2017 19:56 | cyan my experience is mistakes by others do not get learned. I dont think its a massive issue but I was pointing out that it may become one if there has been a miscalculation if you only look at the positive you can get burned.... We wont know for quite some time though so plenty of time to make a profit on the shares. I seriously doubt if GENL will actually develop the field mind you a takeout by a larger company would seem more logical the more Kurdistan stabilizes. | pogue
31/8/2017 19:51 | millecusto you sadly are an inexperienced investor if you think any negative is because someone is short. If you only think the good things about a company and not the bad you are doomed to lose money. There are a lot of people like that on ADVFN, I read the UKOG thread occasionally for a laugh there are some seriously deluded fools posting on there with fingers firmly in ears. If you know more than I do please post a reasoned rebuttal of my views if not keep quiet and learn a bit. I stupidly bought a small amount yesterday having got tired of waiting for the profit takers who appear to have arrived today doh so I am not the most experienced investor in the world however I am still massively in profit, cash in bank type, from all my trading in this share, I even have still some I kept from under £1 making me a nice paper profit. | pogue
31/8/2017 17:59 | Pogue we get ur short,im.sure genl have factored this in..you can rest now youve got the msg out..lol | milliecusto
31/8/2017 17:39 | We have seller. Another 100k odd before the close. It's all down to when they are finished imo. Large trades so maybe a holding rns in the next few days. If it's an insti I'm surprised at their lack of vision. | traidemark
31/8/2017 17:32 | dmore2 I worked on SD2 rig design. The BP specs for that job were very expensive to implement we had suppliers having to redesign their equipment to meet the requirements because once you tried to get the equipment it did not exist and you should have seen the price of the metals we used, it was calculated the rig would have been cheaper made out of gold. As I said it maybe expensive. As for late I worked on the early phases of Tengiz and that was heavily delayed and had a load of things that did not work correctly including large bore pipes rising out of the ground due to error in data on ground temperature changes in winter/summer. As I said expensive and delays most likely. My experience of sour gas in the ‘stans. I hope this is priced correctly not saying it isn't as I am not a cost engineer but there are worries. | pogue

31/8/2017 15:34 | I understand that the link may be probematical. In accordance with copyright law which allows short extracts for the purposes of critical review I hereby paste a short extract of a well written piece of which this extract is an example; (GENL).. "However, it needs to have certain arrangements in place, including financing documents, by February next year or it may have to renegotiate the terms of gas-lifting agreements — which cover key commercial terms such as pricing — with the Kurdistan Regional Government in Erbil. This could happen unless those arrangements are waived." Brent $51.97 | cyan
